Too bad about that, hope he get some good rest. I'm not overall familiar with his work but it be nice to at least see a person from the industry taking some break to help clear things out. It's probably having something to do with financial debt or that the studio isn't going to be receiving any kind of work and that's not good since they haven't been working on anything since last year.
EDIT: His comeback on Twitter wasn't very nice but I don't have speculation since I knew nothing of their relationship. Also doesn't like criticising someone so I leave it at that.

Damn that sucks. WUG! is my favorite idol show, even with the troubled production/rough animation.
I hope he comes back eventually, because I think he does have some talent.

I hope he makes a full recovery. He was quite thoughtful and gracious when he spoke at Anime Central a few years back when they brought the Wake Up Girls over.

Is this the same guy who answered the best advice he could give to people wishing to make a career in the industry is "not to?" If it is, maybe he was due for a break.

Are you talking about the manga artist for Fractale's manga that publicly badmouthed it? Hey, as people made very clear in the thread back then, publicly badmouthing a project you are involved with or such is highly unprofessional. When you work for a company you also represent them. They're paying you to help keep the company profitable and badmouthing any aspect of the company will definitely not help in that aspect.
Now maybe Yamamoto has said or done things after that that I'm not aware of, but in terms of the Fractale manga I think it was fair of him to ask for the manga to be halted and ask the artist to to focus on drawing what she actually was interested in.

Based on everything ANN has quoted from other insiders of the industry, this actually seems like really good advice lol.
I hope he gets well. I actually enjoyed everything he's done well enough (Except the first few episodes of Lucky Star lol....so glad he got kicked out of that because the rest of it is still a fun ride for me)

The only thing I've seen from Ordet, that I know of, is WUG, but it is my favorite Idol series and, even though it's a bit of a rough production, I would have loved to have more. Hopefully, if nothing else, this doesn't prevent the export of those sequel movies. I am kind of getting frustrated that we haven't gotten them here yet. It's really a shame that pretty much nothing this guy has worked on has been successful. He seems to have good ideas and an earnestness that I like to see, but things just don't work out for him. Here's hoping he gets some rest and whatever the issues with his life are resolved.

He was saying things like "how fractale will save the industry", "If Fractale isn't a success, I will retire".
He was basically way too full of himself about an anime that was average at best.

Even Denpa Kyoushi/Ultimate Otaku Teacher made fun of this guy, so I can't take him seriously anymore.

Oh, joy. More Yamakan drama, because every time the man farts, people start trashing him again.

Kannagi is the best thing he did, followed by Wug! In fact, I think Wug! is probably the best thing he's done considering how it made an effort of going against the grain of every other Idol show by trying to depict the seedy underbelly and shit that comes with trying to make it as an idol or in entertainment in general.
