Thank goodness. Blu-ray would be a upscale and making it a stretch goal helps lower the cost of what the initial goal is.

This is great news! Myself and many others were so hesitant to donate due to the partially funding thing. I'll definitely donate once this gets launched. Neither the Skip Beat or Escaflowne campaigns have made mention of this yet, so hopefully they update within the next few hours.

Kickstarter page is live. I probably would have ended up donating anyway but I do feel better about using the Kickstarter model for the project.

When I got the news yesterday as a backer I was really pleased to hear this! I'm going to go bid on the Kickstarter version ASAP. Here's hoping the fans step in to hit this goal!

Gl to them again, but the requirement that they dub it (& the big cost increase that causes production) is going to be a hindrance to it's success. The only ones out there that seem to want an English dub are TV Tokyo, & tbh I think it would be better off if the dub was a stretch goal rather than a requirement. Worked well for the Time of Eve KS. But hey, I can watch it subbed on CR, so I don't care either way.

Great news! I don't like Indiegogo's flexible campaign style, so I wasn't going to back it. I don't like the anime version enough to pay for the whole series, but I'm going to throw them some money at least. Maybe get a spiffy t-shirt.

The Indiegogo campaign was really struggling. Good on Pied Piper for relaunching on Kickstarter. I wish them all the luck because the original campaign suggested that perhaps there is not that big of a fan interest for Skip Beat! I also question the quality of the anime itself. It seems like a sweet story, but the ugly visuals are a significant problem in my opinion.
I donated $20 for the old campaign; I am doing the same for the new campaign. I hope they fund the project. |

Well, hopefully this announcement will raise the project's profile and help people to pledge who were on the fence because of indiegogo. I think the 155K goal is a reachable one whereas the 210k one from before was a little tougher imho. I hope Ann and Pied Piper didn't lose money in the switching of crowd-funding platforms. Its a shame it was and still is running at same time as Funi's Escaflowne KS otherwise it might have gotten more attention and money from fans. But its good to know the project is still alive.
So now just got to go to the forums I frequent to make sure that people know of the change. |

Ugh, I'd really love the fancy box and art booklet, but $150? That's more than twice as much as the barebones release for some extra paper.

Thanks goodness that the campaign was moved to Kickstarter before the situation got any worse. I think that "flexible funding" option that was present on Indiegogo may explain why the funding there was so slow. Now that it's on Kickstarter territory, the goal should be a bit simpler to reach, particularly since it's been lowered by $55 grand.

Gonna give it a pass. Hope they achieve something so companies with other titles will use crowdfunding the same way, but this particular title doesn't interest me the slightest.

Pledged, but no original art tier, so I'm not bothering to pledge at a high level. I don't blame Ann for trying, but rather the Japanese side of things that weren't agreeable to it. Yeah, it sounds to me that the Japanese side of things are still holding out for a better deal. If they were serious about releasing this in the US, they would see how well art tiers work for other crowdfunding projects and have gotten on board.

In just a few hours it seems to have gotten the same amount of funding as the indiegogo campaign did in about 16 days. This makes me really happy as a dub fan and someone who has been wanting this title to be licensed and legally buy able in NA
Being out of work and indiegogo charging right away I couldn't back that campaign but I'll back the KS as I shold be working again before its over. Glad to see the switch! |

Somehow I never heard about the Indiegogo but heard immediately about the Kickstarter. Gave my pledge, looking forward to owning this even if I'll never turn on the dub track for anything more than laughs.
