I've always seen the Fairy Tail cast as Caucasians/Europeans (which is why I like the dub best), but these look decent.

lol i dunno why u always seen the characters in that way...I mean they are simply anime characters that have japanese hairstyles (the boys' hairs are obviously taken from japanese rock bands).

Maybe, and I don't mean to be racist or a sub-hater, but let's get real: Japanese people do not have naturally pale skin.

Well its probably because the world of Fairy Tail is based off of olden European architecture. More specifically Italy. That and a good chunk of the characters names (Lucy, Erza, Gray, Juvia, Makarov, etc.) are not inherently Japanese.
