Ah another film by Makoto Shinkai...

Looks interesting at least visual wise.
It's been awhile since I've seen a work by him.

The poster image looks very Shinkai, as does the trailer.

What I always liked about him is how his works visually focus on light and optics, and how the animation conveys very nuanced emotions in the cahracters.

What the hell! That visual is GODLY! Shinkai-san is really one of the very best in the art department.

The VA for the guy sounds like Shimono Hiro but it was actually Kamiki Ryunosuke... So looking forward to see another dazzling spectacle!

I've always been a big fan of Shinkai. The trailer looks stunning. The backgrounds from Shinkai's movies always make for good computer/tablet/phone wallpapers too. Cool

Though I've always felt Shinkai was better at shorter stories than full-length pictures, and I would've liked him to touch on some new themes other than long-distance relationships, I'm looking forward to this. As usual the animation is breathtaking.

I always thought that he is anime version of Thomas Kinkade, he is good at creating kitsch by tossing the light everywhere but his works lack any actual emotional involvement. Judging by the trailer he didn't evolve at all, so I will probably pass.

I love his art direction, the visuals, the color palette, all of it.
I just feel that sometimes the scripts can be somewhat stiff. The dialogues (mostly monologues) aren't the best, like they try to be too philosophical sometimes.

Regardless, I respect his work a lot. So I'm excited. It'll probably be 2017 till we get it.

Another Shinkai film about lovers separated by time &/or space? Say it isn't so.

I love his art style, though I kinda feel his movies share a bit too many identical scenes. Still gonna watch it, but recently I get the feeling like if you've seen enough of his films - you've pretty much seen them all lol. Not that I'm complaining, I need my dose of depression and tears once in a while
