Depending on money situation, Hanayamata has my eye for January.

I am planning on getting the second part of Argevollen on BD and maybe the Tamako Market BD, but this is a rather weak slate. Hopefully in February we will see releases of Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun and standard BD and DVD versions of Chuunibyou S1.

This makes me curious as to how low of a print this LE had. All the other Sentai LE's are still instock but this one that was just released 4 days ago (If you go by the technical street date) is sold out completely in that short time? Something seems off. Shame too as I really wanted this site and was hoping to wait a bit more but amazon.com just lowered their price to $80 so I'll scoop up a copy quickly incase it gets rare and limited. |

The February slate seems strong to me. Shirobako had a quicker turnaround than I anticipated, but I am not complaining. A dub for it would have been nice, but I am not surprised that Sentai opted to not do one.
I am only planning to buy the Shirobako BD from this slate. |

Looks like it's time to get From the New World.

Hahah. Shirobako is not getting dubbed. Wow Sentai, you're just not all that smart are you? Odd that I'll own Shirobako before I'll own Nozaki-kun.

Damn. I was really really hoping that Shirobako would get a Collector's Edition. Pbbt. EDIT: And all 12 episodes are going to be on one BD. *Sigh* Man, I wish the Japanese releases had English subtitles. The extras on those sets were amazing.
But I am happy to finally see a Complete Collection for From the New World. I've been holding off on buying it so that I could get the Complete Collection. I'd like to see a complete collection for Penguindrum. |

I am not so sure about that. Shirobako was well received by the more hardcore fans, but I am not sure if that many of the more casuals fans are that really into it to justify a dub. I think a sub-only release is a safer bet because enough of the more hardcore fans should buy enough copies for Sentai to turn a profit. Spending the extra $150,000 to dub 24 episodes of a show that might not have that big of an audience does not seem very smart to me. And besides, if Sentai had announced Shirobako with a dub, wouldn't some people be saying that they should not even bother because their dubs suck? |

Hahahhahaha. Shirobako? "Hardcore" audience? Shirobako has one of the largest reaching audience since it focuses on adults, with careers and all.
Here, some numbers for you since you apparently have a very, very wrong impression. On MAL Shirobako has almost 80,000 members. That is people who either have watched, are watching, or want to watch the show. On MAL Majestic Prince has almost 30,000 members. Now, of these two shows, which do you think would be smarter to dub? Surely the one that had a reach of 50,000 people more right? Nope! Majestic Prince got a dub. Pretty stupid right? Just shows the incompetence of Sentai. |

Yeah, if the lack of dub & OVA extras won't hurt this release (as disappointing as that is), 24 episodes on 2 BDs sure will. |

Very interested in seeking out Shirobako. Whenever the second set is out, plan to swoop up both at once.
