Mark my words. The original RWBY is an anime work.

And I hope Monty's characters continue to live on in this manga. In what direction he will take the characters and story -- I suppose it'll be up to him. Nevertheless, this "manga" work can never be classed as an "original work". Despite that, I give many thanks to Roosterteeth not clamping on to the licensing of RWBY and instead allowing others to take on its work -- spreading it and contributing to its successful run.

On this note, I hope this one gets animated too.

That honestly depends on how you define anime. This very site says there are two well known definitions, but for news purposes it uses the definition meaning any Japanese animation.

The show that people at first liked due to the fighting scenes now becomes the super amazing awesome ULTRA COOOOL "ANIME" because the creator happened to die a tragic death. Yes, it was sad that he has died due to stupid preventable mistakes on the hospitals part but honestly, it seems RWBY has become this overtly praised animation that no one dares say anything against in fear of disrespecting the dead man. Come on, the man himself said he readily accepts criticisms to grow. He's an artist as well.

Other than that this seems promising. Hopefully an actual animation studio can take the helm for the animation part, leaving that semi-decent/sometimes awful CGI poser stuff behind. VAs are getting better. Also, maybe they should take some creative writing courses because the villains are either boring or have no character. The story itself is a mess. Other than that, love the character designs.
