Godzilla 2014 really opened the door for the King of Monsters and other monsters to make their way back onto the silver screen if done right. I would definitely be interested how Godzilla vs. King Kong in the 21st century can work out.

Seeing that the Legendary Godzilla is even taller than before, I think Kong would only be as tall as his ankle now.

That would be one gigantic ape or one really small Godzilla. To be fair, the original version framed Kong between 50 ft, large enough to hold a person in his hand like a doll, to 150-200 ft, relative size to Godzilla.

Else, the woman Kong kidnapped was larger than a tank. It's a Japanese film, they're not the best for fine details.

Pacific Rim? No, what they need to do is a crossover between Godzilla, King Kong and Marvel's Antman which Marvel did partway through their Godzilla comic. Shrink Godzilla down to the size of a person, get him into a fistfight with the Avengers, have King Kong grab him and climb the Empire State building... and drop him when he starts to grow.

Enlarge Kong to fight Godzilla, shrink them both and have them fight on a model stage set.

Their idea of new Kong versus new Godzilla? I'm still waiting for the Japanese version of King Kong vs Godzilla to be released on DVD/BD. Do the remake or not, I don't care, just give me that one.

You can import it from Japan...But, hey, I feel for you. I'm still waiting for a U.S. release of the Japanese version of Godzilla vs. Destroyah.

Considering that Kong is a Universal property, I wonder if there was the issue of copyright infringement when the original movie came out.

I actually heard an interesting story for the first time fairly recently about the fact that King Kong was technically part of the public domain. Universal stated that fact in a court case to allow them to make their 1970s remake, and a couple years later, in a case of hilarious irony and stupidity on Universal's part, that fact was also used against them when Universal tried to sue Nintendo for copyright infringement over the release of Donkey Kong in the early 1980s. I'm not usually one for court stories, but that was a good one.

Strike: Actually, let's just say that it might've been better if Nintendo lost that one. It gave them, and the game industry in general, cover to get away with some real thieving crap.

Pacific Rim was a fun movie. I'd rather see it crossover with the also-fun Edge of Tomorrow and not that turgid, overlong Godzilla reboot.

Please let Godzilla wipe the floor with Kong.

I wonder how they'll do this. Because Kong was only 2 or so stories tall, and Godzilla was larger than a skyscraper. Either way, I'd love to see a monster cinematic universe.
