4 TV series means that they are milking it and I am surprised this hasn't gotten a dub here yet.

Obligatory "hope this is more like the original two series" post. TD got my hopes up, and this has almost got them up again with the thieves and proper genius 4.

Well, the article did pretty much state that it's using the first two season's staff, along with actually bringing back G4, and the Phantom Thief Empire with no mention of the Feathers, Totsugawa or Marine.

When you consider only the first two series were even licensed for streaming, it isn't that surprising.

While I don't watch the series, if only half the TV series had streaming licenses then later "put back in the vault" on CR, I wonder what other licensing issues prevented CR from having the other series streamed.

Word at the time was that the series underperformed on CR. Given that it appears to be popular enough in Japan, it may have been a case of the licensor wanting more than was justified for the audience outside of Japan. CR never had the license to the second series.
The second series is streamed by Funimation, courtesy of their joint venture with NicoNico.com at the time.

Let's hope the movie is more... bold, like season 1-2 and not "I'm-glad-they-made-more-but-I'm-kind-of-let-down" TD.
