Fantastic news. My original copy stopped working a few years ago, so it's great to know I'll be able to replay one of the best RPGs on the PS2, this time with improvements.

Nothing against Odin Sphere, but I'm disappointed that their "new HD project" is just an HD version of a PS2 game and not an actual new project. Also doesn't explain that cryptic "from Boston" message on the teaser page.

But there is a new project. This was just revealed alongside it.

i read about this on another website first, but they mentioned that the Jan 14, 2016 release date is for Japan, with no word on an international release, whereas here on ANN it doesn't specify release location.
i want this game...

Here's to hoping they'll do an international release. I absolutely love Dragon's Crown and I've always wanted to play Odin Sphere so fingers crossed!

Here's hoping to a US release. I'm sure our students will enjoy having to play one of Vanillaware's first games. Now if someone can release a dual package of P3 and P4 we're all set.

Odin Sphere can be downloaded off PSN and played on your PS3. I know, because I did just that. Great game, that.

Admittedly, the new features that they're promising look pretty enticing, especially with regards to Gwendolyn and everyone getting new combo moves and a special finishing move of some kind.

It seemed that I was never able to beat the first boss in Vanillaware's games, even in easy mode. First Odin Sphere, then Dragon's Crown. The movement limits in 2d environment really affected me who was more accustomed to 3d action like monster hunter or kingdom hearts style. So yeah, there's no point for me to get the hd release. what a bummer.
