Bryce Papenbrook is now Shirou. Of course he is. DON'T THEY HAVE ANYONE ELSE FOR TEENAGE MALE LEADS ARGH
Honestly, losing Liam O'Brien as Archer hurts too. Kaiji Tang lacks O'Brien's resonance, Tang has yet to show he can come anywhere close to matching the raw power in O'Brien's voice. It's clear they want to move in a different direction with Archer but I think it's going to seem weak in comparison to O'Brien's work. Brina Palencia as Ayako seems to confirm the rumors she's moved out to LA again, except this time on a permanent basis. Also, expensive Blu-Rays and DVDs are expensive. Sigh. |

So they've got some of the voice actors from the original FSN dub reprising their roles, while others are being recast. Ok, whatever.

While I loved Fate/Zero's English Dub cast, I'm questioning their choices for UBW. There was nothing wrong with Sam Riegel and Liam O'Brien. Though I have to admit, I questioned their decision to cast Crispin as Kirei and in the long run it worked out great, so who knows. But I just can't picture Bryce's voice coming from Shirou's mouth. After hearing Sam how many times it feels weird to put a different voice to the character.

He was underwhelming as Assassin, but as long as he doesn't pull a King of Frat Boys he should be at least decent. |

I think it has finally happened! That is, a dubbed 12-13 episode TV anime getting getting released the same year as Japan. Of course, if they could do it for the Funi or Sentai prices, I think that would really make fans happy.

Kind of surprised Shirou and Archer got new voices. Last I checked Sam Regal and Liam O' Brian were still doing voices. Also Saber finally got to keep an English voice between series.

While $180 (store-price) is still outrageously high for 16 episodes worth of materials, but at least it's much acceptable than the price of the imported set.
That being said...I will most likely getting the DVD-box in the end. No matter how much I like Fate (not LOVE), no way I will throw that MUCH to BR-BOX. |

Aw man, Riegel was great as Shiro, and O'Brien rocked as Archer.
Don't get me wrong, Papenbrook has done some great work in SAO and Attack on Titan, but Riegel... |

The thought of Bryce Papenbrook's voice coming out of Shiro Emiya makes me cringe. I mean, I love english dubs and I love the guy, but I'm just not seeing him as the right fit for Shiro.
I like the performance Kari Wahlgren turned in for F/Z, but I honestly don't understand recasting Saber when it's clear that Kate Higgins is still pretty available. Sure, the DEENime isn't exactly a masterpiece, but I'm really missing Sam Regal and Liam O'Brien for UBW. |

You know, I was excited for the Fate UBW dub because at least I'd get some entertainment out of O'Brien's Archer again, considering absolutely hate the route and wasn't too fond of the Ufotable adaption to begin with.
Bryce Papenbrook as Shiro? Yeah. No offense to his acting talent but that's not sitting well with me at all.  I could at least HEAR Freeman doing a young Kirei and it worked out really well. Plus Price did an utterly fantastic Zero Rider.

Aw, guess there won't be another memorable scene of "People die when they're killed!" But I tease. Bryce you either live the voice actor's dream or living hell.
On that note, Brina Palencia!? I thought something was up when I heard her in that horrible video game (which was really the only reason I bought the f***er) but wow. Another Texas actress made the move to LA. Really looking forward to hearing this one in a few years on Netflix. Or Crunchyroll if Durarara is any evidence. Wow, someone other than Liam O'Brien is playing Archer. That is a real kick in the teeth. So.........Carnival Phantasm? |

All coming out this year. Gives me hope for the 2nd seasons of both to come out before Summer of next year.
