While it's nice that DMP has had some success with these Tezuka crowd-funds, I would very much enjoy if they could get all 30+ vol. of Cyborg 009 (including that web comic that was the final arc) as an e-manga.

A reason why I say this is because if Tezuka was Manga God, then Ishino-mori would likely be the Manga King or the manga-ka that is closest to the Manga God.

I have been supporting Digital manga's kickstarter but I just noticed that the Msrp is like $16.. So.. Like why do they ask for $20 in Kickstarter, I had never noticed is just cheaper to wait for the release and then buy it in amazon at a discounted price.. Confused

Well, you obviously get more from the Kickstarters via extra stuff and you get them sooner.

Plus, Digital Manga's not going to be releasing these to retailers normally anymore. Mostly just through the Kickstarters and their online store. Apparently, the profit margin's thin enough on these books as is without a middleman.

As Mewzard said after Captain Ken you probably won't see titles on Amazon or anywhere besides Akadot unless someone is reselling because DMP is going to direct sales. They did offer a retailer tier last time for comic shops to get copies which I don't think anyone supported. So depending on when you buy from Akadot (which is usually the sooner the better and means no discount unless you happen to be able to fulfill a promotion running too) and where you live you'd probably be lucky to pay $20. Honestly I've become used to paying at least MSRP for their books (usually more) because it's such a pain to get them.

I never heard of Storm Fairy before this, so I don't know if I'll pledge. It's funny they have summer dresses offered when people won't get the items till November too. Hopefully Unico will be reprinted however because I still need an extra copy for a gift. And as for stretch #2 I already have Crime and Punishment.

Surprised at this title if any Shojo i would have taken Melmo but i actually wanted Wonder 3 or Under the Air right now ... still gonna support it as always.
But i can assure you i'm one of the biggest Tezuka fans in the west and also get stuff in other (western) languages but i had never heard about Sorm Fairy before !!!
Tezuka isn't the biggest PK and Melmo are the only ones that are household names so i was mind blow it wasn't Melmo instead and Crime and Punishment did already come out thorough a rare Japanse/english release from 1992 that i already have ... altough that edition might have been shortened not sure.

That is true in France he may actually be almost as popular then Tezuka for some reason they have lot's of stuff from him including all of Cyborg 009 Kamen Rider Hokusai and some of his weird adult stuff !!! altough as for English it took a long time for Tezuka's name to be regonized as well and publishers just haven't tried more Ishinomori after cyborg 009 got canceled

TonyTonyChopper: I've read a few times that the French manga market is bigger than the USA's. I don't know why. I find it interesting that Tezuka's protege might be more popular than Tezuka there.

This is good news. Now I'm just waiting for Alabaster to get started.
