How many of these are they going to make, wouldn't it be easier to just go back and remkae the show from scratch. Because at this rate you could attach all of these back to back, along with movie 8 and it would tell the whole story.

How would starting over and remaking hundreds of episodes worth of content be easier than reanimating a few key scenes for a special? It's not like a weekly remake would have the same level of animation that these annual recap specials get (which I think is the main draw, seeing these arcs get higher quality animation than they initially received). |

What will this even cover? I hope that they don't do filler that may clash with the canon when Oda tells us more about Sabo.

I'm not really happy about this, I think Sabo (Like Ace) is one of the most overrated, fangirl loved characters in the series. I don't know what about him it is i just hate him...maybe it's because One Piece is supposed to be Luffy's story and not Sabo's.

I'm very excited about this. These yearly specials have all been great (except Episode of Luffy, that was kinda average).
Also I'm guessing that it's because of these specials that we haven't gotten a new One Piece movie in so long? Just speculating but I was thinking "why haven't they announced a movie 13 yet?" a couple of days ago. |

Main question: was Oda the one to write the script or is it an unrelated to Oda's writing? If the former, it could be considered canon, if the latter it could pose problems with continuity or other plot elements later down the line.
Anyways, seems interesting nonetheless. |

Not sure how I feel about this. I do love Sabo as a character, maybe it's because i'm an older brother myself and like the big brother role caring for his little brother, but who knows. Anyway, i'm mainly curious about what this is meant to cover. Is this going to basically give us a reveal to everything Sabo has been up to since his "death" as a kid, or is it just going to be a random mission of him as an adult.
For instance, if it's the former I don't get why they would make it solely a special when Sabo's backstory after that moment would most likely get revealed in the Manga at some point or time. This is just making me nervous Oda might not put the backstory into the Manga, and people are going to have to go see a special to find out about everything. In my opinion that would be a pretty weird approach to things. Than again, maybe we'll have Sabos backstory already by the time this comes out in August. Either way i'm interested to see exactly what this special is going to be comprised of, because i'd love to see some stuff about Sabo that we haven't been exposed to yet. |

Ugh, I hope we don't get a long Sabo flashback between now and August. That would mean Dressrosa getting dragged out EVEN LONGER. Sabo's past can wait.

I think though that this is still not the "big news" that is supposed to be announced next week. People have been thinking that this or the Guinness World Record is the big news, but I don't think they are done yet.

Sabo is one of my most favourite characters in One Piece (I just love the ASL trio), so this is great news from me!
Isn't this special supposed to be about the ASL flashback, with some original footage about Koala and Sabo's arrival on Dressrosa? In that case it would be nearly full canon material even if Oda won't write the screenplay himself. |
