In all animes iv'e, seen the characters wear the same clothes over and over. They can get in a fight and be torn up and they'd popup in the next seen with perfect, same clothing! Anyone think thats odd??? Not saying it's a bad thing just wondering of others oppinions

It's like in the Simpsons when you see their closets occasionally they have about a million sets of the same outfit, so in anime they have closets with the exact same outfit except for the various festivals they might go to where they are more dressed up.

The same thing could be said for almost every animated series. How long has Homer Simpson worn that same white shirt and blue jeans combonation?
I guess giving characters a "default" set of clothing and maybe some outfits they'd only wear once or twice is easier for the animators.
Hey. It worked for Einstien.
And about the magical self-repairng fabric. I think that sometimes its an oversight in the animation.

Well I agree that most characters dont change their clothing. But it is not always true that their clothes are indistractable, many are torn, ripped and remain that way...
As for the variety of the clothes themselves.. I can recall only few characters that changed them: Hokuto and Subaru from Tokyo Babylon, Ai from Video Girl Ai, many main characters from Oh! My Goddess (well thats basically because Fujishima WAS studying designing clothes at university)..... I guess thats all I remember now......

There are characters with 2 outfits, for example: Sango from Inuyasha and Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin. Both have a regular outfit and a fighting outfit.

There's also animes that involve school uniforms.

In most of the animes I seen, they just have one set or a couple different clothes for different ocasions. At least you would not have a hard time picking out clothes.

wow lots of new views for me to think about my next idea was goign to be: why do they never go to the bathroom yet they take showers? (just kidding) would u like to see a anime where the clothes change from day to day or atleast weekly with every other episode type thing happening?I think it would make the shows more captivating color wise, oppinions??

Not really. There were only a few times where they dress different and those were mainly in the first few episodes.
To create a whole wardrobe takes time, and time costs money. Anime budgets are pretty tight as it is.

Marmalade Boy. If I recall correctly, the characters in that seem to have a variety of outfits.

Nah... not always. In the beginning, yes, but they lay off of that later in the series.
