I was wondering is there anime in first-person? I think that would be interesting to see the story through the eyes of the character.

There's plenty of bishoujo games (dating sims) out there...don't know if that qualifies. |

Osamu Tezuka's 1984 film Jumping is told entirely from a first-person perspective. Other than short independent films like these (Ferenc Rofusz's The Fly comes to mind), it's hard to find animations told entirely from a first-person perspective because it's generally more difficult and time-consuming to animate. Of course, many anime titles contain first-person sequences, but they're usually found within more traditionally storyboarded films/series.

It's been a while since I watched it, but if I remember correctly, Le Chevalier D'Eon had a few... seconds in first-person (sometime when D'Eon enters a room or something like that) perspective. I'm probably ain't helping but at least I tried!

To have one viewed completely in first person. That'd be a very difficult thing to do.
As far as I can remember, the closest I've seen was the first episode to Suzumiya Haruhi. Well, it's through a camera lens, but close enough. |

There are many scenes in Haruhi where she's talking (and often gesticulating wildly) directly to Kyon, and you see that from his PoV. |

I really can't think of any... I always thought that would be a cool thing though.

Closest things I can think of is maybe the Black Jack series, Gantz, or maybe even Perfect Blue.
The Black Jack series is usually narrated by Black Jack himself. Gantz always had Kurono telling us what he was thinking throughout the entire series. If I remember correctly, I think he was the only character in the series doing this. Perfect Blue is kinda iffy. I guess spoiler[we kinda watched the movie through the eyes of Mima and were constantly seeing her hallucinations. ] |

Maybe Flag, sort of. From what I hear, everything is shown through the lens of a camera, and from the same character the entire time (I think).

Oh yea. Particularly the formation of the Brigade. ![]() ![]() Man, after having watched each episode 10 times or more -- I completely forgot these things. ![]() |

1st person anime sounds like an intersting idea. Though I don't now if the whole "Blair Witch" angle would be much of a hit. A series or ova definately wouldn't keep me interested for long. One offs wouldn't be so bad. Probably make a nice change to the norm too. Suppose it would also depend on which genre you'd be using it in. Better chance of working in a romance for example. Fights would just lose some of their impact. Mite be funny though

well as of now, Flag is the only one that is "1st" person or atlest through the eyes of a camera lens
