Honestly at this point, I hope not. There's enough for the amount of material so far and I wasn't too fond of the direction of the second season.

I wonder how he would get investors to help get the money to make another adaptation. Two seasons and a movie is a decent of anime but a third season could milk (though I haven't seen Psycho-Pass yet).

If Kougami is in it, yes.

Yes. Make it happen and I'll have a blast reading ANN's Reviews of each episode. Those of Psycho-Pass 2 were epic

I remember seeing an F for the PPass 2 weekly reviews...
But well, standalone? Why not? How about a prequel perhaps? When Kougami was still an Inspector? |

No, please. I really did not enjoy the second season and would prefer to continue pretending that it never actually happened. Not to say that this guy has not pleasantly concluded some of the other shows he has worked on, but seriously; the best gamblers don't always strike it rich every time, but most importantly, know when to stop. And now it is time to stop. Nothing else needs to be added, subtracted, or modified. Walk away, man. Walk away.

That being said, the review and feedback of the movie is overwhelmingly positive, I guess it really depends on the writer and IG is back animating the movie helps too.
Seriously, reading the almost one-sided praise for the movie (in Japanese of course) makes me want to watch it right now, too bad I need to wait until mid July. |

After the disappointment and wasted potential of season 2, the possibility of a third doesn't exactly engender much enthusiasm from me.
A stand-alone prequel movie for Kogami would get my attention though. |

Like others here, if it is going to be as disappointing as season 2, no.
Very funny. [/sarcasm] |

Rather remarkably, the second season sold pretty well by anime standards averaging about 1,100 DVDs and 5,000 BDs per volume. The first season averaged about 2,000 more BDs per instalment, but they also released a BD boxset that alone sold about 9,000 copies. With those kinds of figures I can understand why some people might want to see yet another season. Personally I couldn't make it past a couple of episodes of season two.
These are all Japanese sales figures, of course. |

Now they sounded like they're gonna turn PP into cashcow.
I haven't seen the movie, but the second season was something I hope never existed. After all, the "genius", "brilliant" and "epic" writing in second season was too hard for an idiot like me to enjoy. It's not like I'm not gonna give them another chance, but at this point I'm already too fed up with it. Though, if they make something like visual novel with decent writing, oh, I'm all on it. |
