All depends if they're willing to pay the money Kadokawa wants for the series. This was a TBS title and apparently one that was too expensive for Sentai to simulcast, so that says something.

I was about to be the guy to say it, but this does put things into perspective so thanks. How about Nichijou though? If there was any other Kyoani show I wanted to own it'd be that one. I already got the haruhi stuff that matters (season 1 and the movie) so those two series are all I'm waiting for til the the company (kyoani) does something worth a damn again.

It's in the same boat: waiting for someone to pick it up for the right price. Nichijou is a niche comedy that may not move enough units in NA for the price Kadokawa wants for it and the fans would want it on BD as well, so there's a lot of variables for a licensor to consider.

Also give Euphonium a try. It's a solid novel.

There's a good chance that Nichijou was part of the CR/Kadokawa deal and with what we've learned with some of the past CR licenses as well as hints NISA has dropped about that series, it's very possible CR had the full rights to it and Bandai got it from them. Once Bandai was getting ready to close, the rights reverted back to the "licensor". CR didn't lose the rights to Nichijou until recently, so if they did have the full rights, they either didn't want to work with anyone other than Bandai, or some other factor came into play.

Going under that assumption though, now that the rights are available again, it would be up to companies to work with Kadokawa for it.
Much like Sentai did with the first season of Student Council's Discretion.

Nice! Now I'm gonna say what every Hyouka fan is thinking right now: come on, Sentai, get Hyouka next iffen you're in the KyoAni biz, anyway!

I LOVED Hyouka and it's arguably KyoAni's best series. I'd pay good money for a blu-ray release.

Moi aussi. I just don't know how likely that is too happen. Now that I have an all-region BD player, I can also hope that some other region might get the license like sometimes happens (i.e. Australia's Siren Visual getting Dennou Coil, the full Monster run, etc.).

Satisfied that Sentai picked up Amagi Brilliant Park. I hope the OVA gets included.

Agreed, Sentai really needs improvement in those areas.

I suspected Sentai might get this sooner or later. And with Kadokawa involved, I'm looking forward to a DVD-only release for Amagi Brilliant Park sometime in 2017!

Yeah, it sucks that with Sentai releases you do not have the option of watching the series in Japanese with subtitles. Oh wait, you can actually do that with Sentai releases. Rolling Eyes
Where did Legendzerox say anything about dubbing? After all, Sentai have shown themselves quite capable of making subtitles unenjoyable to unwatchable, and they don't have CR subs available to Copy+Paste for this series.

More like only if they get a good script writer, director and voice actors. I swear 90% of Sentai's dubs are joke dubs. You can't even call them "So bad it's good". They're just beyond bad, and this isn't coming from someone who dislikes dubs either. Everyone else does a decent job at the very least.

Apparently you've been hearing different Sentai dubs than I have lately. The one for Outbreak Company wasn't bad at all, for instance.

Granted, they occasionally have theirs, but 90% of them suck? Really?

Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to watching this one dubbed and getting a proper chance to review it. It was a fun series.

so happy... I know it's not everyone's cuppa, but it amused me greatly. It will be nice to get a real version, and pay those that made the thing happen.

The more recent ones I've heard are Chuuni, Log Horizon, From the New World, Mayo Chiki and Little Busters. All of them were bad at best, with everything from poor voice acting and complete miscasting to poor scriptwriting.

I adored Amagi Brilliant Park, so from my perspective it's sad to see it go to a company which can't offer a decent dubbed or subbed experience on home video.

Uhh what. Did you just complain and then counter-argue with your own complaint? Because I don't see the correlation between your reply to Legendzerox and what he wrote.

Anime dazed

Though it being Sentai I could see why you would complain. Unusually large subtitles, colored yellow to boot. Not exactly an eye-friendly combo. And that's just the aesthetical part, the actual TLs are not exactly top tier either... Rolling Eyes

{This is enough. If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. Thank you. Also, I fixed your inline quote for you. And you're welcome. ~nobahn}

Sigh, another overhyped show licensed. Why people like this type of genre?
