Even then, I get the hunch that it's still going to have way more guys than girls, and it's going to wind up like that sex hotline scene in The Simpsons where Apu mistakes Krusty the Klown for "a beautiful woman."

Yeah, I saw that, too. But I seem to recall other articles about anime-related mixers where there was a price difference. I'm guessing that prices are set to try to to get turn out as close to 50/50 as possible.
