Now all you have to do is add compatibility with a motorcycle, and you will have Amiibo cards on motorcycles.

What?
I suppose this will make the people who just want the content rather than the figures happy. I'm not sure how many scalpers will bother with cards. I just imported my Amiibo from Japan for cheaper than US prices myself.

he's making some retarded yugioh reference,
anyways as for this,it definitely is cheaper than manufacturing the figurines, though from what i heard from some, they've already been cheaping out on the process of making them anyway.
though the collector in me loves the idea of collectible nintendo cards.

I think the previous poster was referring to Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and it's "Riding Duel" system.
Also, I'm hoping that the "Amiibo cards" will also be their own unique thing (i.e., not just alternate versions of the figures). For instance (and to use a hypothetical example), can you imagine something like Aikatsu! (or other arcade games that use physical, collectible cards) on the Wii U using this system?...

That and I think it's also a joke from the YGO Abridged series.
Either way, if i am understanding this correctly, having them as cards is good if you just want to be able to get or use a certain game function. I do admit I like amiibos for the figures themselves, not because you can use it for games, so I don't think I would get a lot of the cards, if any.
I'd be surprised if scalpers bothered with them.

Here ya go That's Yu-Gi-Oh 5ds like others say. Card Games on motorcycles. Now this sounds like an interesting idea, but I hope this doesn't mean an end to the figures. Their still releasing those, right?

The ds had the e-reader, which was kind of like that.

Amiibo are very similar to how the Arcade machines work in Japan, but I'm not sure we'll see any ports onto the Wii U. It would cannibalize Arcade sales so they probably want to keep those in the Arcades exclusively. However, Nintendo could make their own form of Ganbaride or Carddass which would be neat. Nintendo experimented with this in the past with the eReader so it's possible.

If 3rd parties start to have compatibility for them, I'll import some along with the games needed to use them. I also don't mind card forms available if I can get them for cheap, it's an alternative for when the figures are sold out.

This isn't that bad of an idea. Now you can carry your amiibo around more easily.
Yu-Gi-Oh 5DS, huh.... No. Just, no.

Great news! Since I don't like the quality of the Amiibo figures, I'll get the cards instead if I want some extra content. ^^

Oh so this is what they're planning to do.I understand why but I'm still disheartened that I possibly won't be able to buy let's say Villager or Marth anymore in figure form but still glad that we can at least get their content.
And wow I can't wait to play the unlockable games!Even though it's for a short time it will be fun and get people into the games that the characters are from.I know I'm curious/anticipating playing some characters original games.

I guess with Smash Bros. being a much bigger deal these cards will be available to purchase in actual stores in the US. If I recall those Kid Icarus Uprising cards never did.
