It's disappointing to see Blazblue no longer there. Last year it had one of the most exciting Finales from the whole weekend.

This roster is pretty weak IMO.
Its GREAT to see Guilty Gear Xrd, Killer Instinct, and Ultimax on the list.
But no King of Fighters XIII? No Blazblue?
Mortal Kombat X won't have been out for more then a month by EVO. Tekken 7 WILL HAVE BEEN OUT IN ARCADES ONLY ABOUT A WEEK.
This line-up makes it pretty clear how much the line-up is influenced by advertising dollars.

Agreed. Maybe they thought Guilty Gear Xrd had enough overlap to make having both feel redundant, but it's a shame nonetheless.
I look forward to seeing pretty much all the tournaments; Tekken 7 intrigues me. I used to freaking love the series, but I just haven't kept up with it in years (no real reason, just haven't gotten around to it). I was checking out some tournament footage of Tag Tournament 2, and it was just ludicrous. Hopefully Tekken 7 can match the level of energy that the game had with just one character.

Damn. No Blazblue. Hope Galileo participates in Guilty Gear.

Disappointed about the lack of KOF, clearly Mr. Wizard wa$ per$uaded to bring in two games that are going to be super fresh. Well, hopefully people will get some side tourneys going and I'm planning on going to Combo Breaker anyway.
Other than that, Smash 4 AND Melee? Dude!

I'm actually happy with the roster. Xrd was obvious but Ultimax was a surprise over Blazblue. I was really surprised to hear Tekken 7 was going to be on the main stage. I normally would've thought it would be an exhibition but main stage?! I'm definitely excited to see that.
The only disappointment is UNIEL. That game definitely has high potential and it would've been great if it got the publicity on the main stage.

Why 2 Super Smash Bros. games? They should just chose one and pick another game instead.
How about I indie game instead.

The lineup is pretty weak this year. P4U, seriously? UMvC3, KI3 and Ultimax are snoozefests.
I hope MKX is fun to watch, but I don't expect great things basing on MK9 which is also pretty boring.
Smash 4? That game that takes forever to kill?
I don't care for Tekken 7 nor most 3D fighters. SC is the only 3D fighter series I like to watch.
I don't really care for KOFXIII either. Where's KOF98? 02UM?
I'm down with Xrd though. But where's UNIEL?
Thank god and Markman/MadCatz for side-tourney streams. I hope ST gets another Tournament of Legends. Pretty disappointed about MvC2, "people don't play this game as much anymore" my butt.

KOFXIII has been dying for a long time, since it's 2nd year at Evo. I knew it wasn't going to return. Honestly though, I'd rather see KOF98UMFE at Evo instead of KOFXIII at this point. Sure it would have to be run on PC... but 98UMFE is great.
BlazBlue not being at Evo kinda makes sense since Arc System Works fighters just cannibalize each other. Persona 4 Arena 2 is lucky to be included this year, and with a new balance coming up soon, will probably get alot more interest, even though Blazblue has yet another revision in the works, but it won't be released in time I guess.

MK9 was announced for Evo months before it's release too. It releases in April, about 3 months before Evo. You know how it is with the FGC finding the cheap shit real quick. Just look at MK9 and Injustice.
Arcade Tekken 7 surprised me though, it's cool to have the actual arcade game like how Evo used to be run on arcade machines over a decade ago.
I don't really like the idea of having 2 Smash Bros games though. I mean I get Evo's of the past had multiple Street Fighter games, but... I dunno, Smash is just whatever to me.

Melee is the de facto competitive scene. Smash4 is still in its infancy.
My guess is that Melee was kept as an old stand-by, while 4's inclusion might be due to Nintendo trying to promote it.
That said, if Nintendo was trying to push 4 as the competitive platform I'm surprised that they didn't try to limit Melee's main stage exposure.

I doubt it. Wasn't Nintendo originally against Smash at EVO? I remember a year or two ago reading about some controversy about it.

Originally, but they sponsored EVO last year.

Plus, the inclusion of other questionable games arise that concept, so it's not out of the blue.
