Well I'm willing to sell my left nut for the same. I'd like to think it's worth more than that.

Muse just makes people sell the farm doesn't it. This is near AKB tier outrageous. You don't see this with the Idolm@ster fanbase (except with the mobile games).

Why do I have a feeling that these Love Live tickets may be coming from scalpers? Is it really normal for tickets to be sold at auctions?

They are scalpers and it's normal for tickets to be sold at auctions and sometimes cost super high due to the insane demand for them.

They are scalpers. Usually when tickets for a thing go on sale, there's a contingent of people who buy as many tickets as possible, and sell them at insane prices.

Tickets to the Home Opening of the Cavs game here were up on Secondary market for $20,000, from some overly ambitious brokers. This of course isn't any indication of if anybody's buying tickets at those prices.

Found an auction for another one on YJ -

http://smjsearch.com/cgi-bin/b.cgi?n139593365

As of this post, the ticket, which originally sold for 10,800 yen, has a high bid of 121,000 yen.

As someone who spends quite a bit on artwork, I can't really call these people crazy. Yeah, spending 121,000+ yen on a ticket seems silly to me, but I've spent some stupid amounts on shikishi artwork too.
