Really looking forward to seein this animated. It's a great story. I hope the cruelty shown in the first portion of the story isn't toned down though.

To be fair, 62 chapters aren't a whole lot of material for a 2-cour, and the annoncement didn't mentioned a TV show. It could also be an OVA (either a single-, or multi-release).

I've heard great things about this series, so I hope it turns out to be a well produced anime!

I've heard good things about this story, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it animated. I'm especially looking forward to seeing the sign language animated. It should be quite interesting.

YES!! SO HAPPY!!! :DDD

Though it'll be weird watching an anime all the way through that I already know everything about. o_O I can't remember the last time we got an anime of a completed series.

Oops, got me there! Though I actually didn't even know of Parasyte's existence prior to the anime. Though I thought the Sailor Moon anime was made while the manga was ongoing? (Or did you mean Crystal?) Same with Kuroko and Bakuman? Monogatari I can't speak on; I don't know anything about it--as for Brotherhood (and other "re-animations"), I count that more as a reboot, sorry! I mean a first-time-it's-been-animated-with-everything-all-wrapped-up-well-before-the-air-date kind of "completed".

I feel like usually manga are still ongoing when they get anime adaptations.

I'm eagerly await Kodansha USA's physical release of this series! Will definitely check out the anime, just hope that it adapts the entire story.

I'm rather pleased to hear this. this is something I could easily watch with a friend of mine I grew up with. she's only somewhat into anime (Scrapped Princess, Kenshin, Sailor Moon, and a few others only so far), but seeing as she's hearing impaired and close enough to deaf we had "deaf child area" signs on our street when we were kids this may be something she'd be interested in watching with me.

I'm a bit surprised because even getting the manga serialized almost didn't happen since it portrays Japanese society too negatively or something. It is also odd the adaptation is being announced with the final chapter, since most adaptations serve as commercials for the manga. Then again, this could just be an OAD.

Depends on what you mean by negatively portraying Japanese society. The same argument could be said about fan service/harem manga/LN in the fact that the lead guy and harem women can have negative portrayals of each sex/gender.

I hope this gets the same treatment as "Your Lie in April" and gets a 2-cour, full story adaptation. It would be a crime to not do it, since the story is complete.

The other option would be to do it as a feature length film, but they would probably have to cut too much out.

Is anybody that can read Japanese able to read the cover and say exactly what it says?
