I really don't know how much this matters. But ADV has a poll on there front page that asks which series is your favorite*. If it is a series you like it might be worth a sec to support it with a click or two. The Manga are: Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days, Maburaho, Gunslinger Girl, YOTSUBA&!, Anne Freaks.
I myself voted for YOTSUBA&! * With the exception of only the first volume of Gunslinger Girl, none of the titles in the poll are offered in the ADV Store. So the poll could be considered which are you happy that are being continued. |

I voted for Gunslinger Girl. The only other one they mentioned that I've read is Anne Freaks which was alright but the ending left something to be desired. I plan on reading Yotsuba& at some point. I can't say I have any interest in Angelic Days or Maburaho.

I'll bet the choice that recieves the least amount of votes will become discontinued

Yay my first manga poll selection.
Went with Yotsuba. I've fallen for that manga series. ![]() |

Cromartie was pretty much unaffected by the whole ADV Manga slowdown, so IMO it's a relatively safe bet. & To be fair, two of their titles in the poll are actually completed (Anne Freaks and Maburaho). I think that ADV Manga has indeed learned their lesson, and they're (very) slowly beginning to correct their mistakes. I don't blame those who are still doubting them, but personally I don't think they'll be making such a big mistake like that ever again. I have been collecting Cromartie from them, though I've put that on hold at the moment, since I've wanted to read it while watching the anime to make comparisons between the two, and I haven't been able to watch it lately due to time constraints and life and all. ![]() |

I can't believe Maburaho is beating Gunslinger Girl.
![]() Voted for the girls obviously. I can't wait to finally have volume 4 in my hands, to read and enjoy. Regarding ADV's manga division's past problems, I think a lot of what happened occured because they were diverting so much capital into the Anime Network. I think that's why they all but stopped publishing. Now that they've stabilized their channel, I don't think we'll see any mass hiatuses like before. Unless something is selling really badly of course. |

Voted for Yotsuba&! too. It's just an all-around nice series. Plus, if what Tony K. suspects is true, I'd like ADV to continue publishing it.

![]() __________ Well everyone is giving a short reason for the choice they made, and I didn't. So I choose Yotsuba&! because it is sooo cute! ![]() |

I thought that was one of the titles Tokyopop picked up from them, but I could be wrong. I know they have Aqua and Aria (which I'll get), and Tactics, but I don't remember exactly what else the got. |

TP has the original Peace Maker series, not PMK. & the titles you've mentioned are all they got at the moment that used to be from ADV, but AoD's been reporting that they possibly have Your and My Secret. |

Correct. Tokyopoop has the first of two series, Shinsengumi Imon Peace Maker, while ADV (being the brilliant marketicians they are) only picked up the second half, Peace Maker Kurogane, probably because they thought it tied into the anime, but they obviously didn't do any research since the anime itself was bad adaptation from what little bits of the manga I've read anyway
![]() And to top things off, they stopped production just one volume short of completing PMK (got to 3 of 4), and now they're even out of print. Genius! If the sales for PM do well, maybe Tokyopoop will pick up PMK as well since it's not even that long a series overall (only 10 volumes between both, I believe). EDIT: Just realized a mistake and that PMK is 5, not 4 volumes. Last edited by Tony K. on Sun Jun 17, 2007 10:06 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Oh, okay. I knew there were two separate series, but I thought Tokypop obtained ADV's portion as well. Obviously, I was wrong.

I think there was a time where companies were basically buying up any semi-popular license they could get, and adv bit off more then it could chew. I have read in a couple of places now that it seems that most companies don't really bother to look into the titles they are licensing outside of how cost effective it is.
I voted for Yotsuba&! because I think it's one of the most refreshing series out there. I can't wait for the next volume. ^__^ |

I am impressed that they have the testicles to put up THAT kind of a poll on their main page while their ACTUAL manga division page has not been updated since September 2004. *golf claps* |

I'm a little surprised that Angelic Days is at the top. Then again, it was never put on hiatus, right? So it never fell out of the public view.
I personally voted for Gunslinger Girl. I have utterly adored what I have read thus far, even more so than the anime in many ways (maybe it's just me, but I swear the manga is more even handed with the girls than the anime which put a much more heavy focus on Henrietta--who I didn't like all that well.) I haven't read Yotsuba& just yet, but I am quite interested in it. Once they get back to releasing (and I know it's all out) I'll go ahead and pick it up too. It sounds like it'd be right up my alley anyway. |
