I am worried for that poor Banette! That wicked girl might be a pokemon trainer!

Awesome! Junji Ito is one of my favorite mangaka and I'd love to see what else he could do with Pokemon, especially with Ghost Types like Drifloon (its Pokedex entries state that it tricks children into grabbing it and then drags them into, what might as well be called, hell.)

I love Halloween, Pokemon, and Junji Ito.

This promotion, it was made for me.

HA! This is going to be such an awesome idea! One of Banette's entries is "A doll that became a Pokemon over its grudge from being junked. It seeks the child that disowned it." So yeah, that girl totally deserves what she's got coming!

Some other classic ghost Pokemon Pokedex entries:
Litwick: "While shining a light and pretending to be a guide, it leeches off the life force of any who follow it"
Yamask: "These Pokemon arose from the spirits of people interred in graves in past ages. Each retains memories of its former life"
Gengar: "To steal the life of its target, it slips into the prey's shadow and silently waits for an opportunity"
Haunter: "By licking, it saps the victim's life. It causes shaking that won't stop until the victim's demise."
Gourgeist: "It enwraps its prey in its hairlike arms. It sings joyfully as it observes the suffering of its prey"
Phantump: "According to old tales, these Pokemon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost int he forest"
Dusclops: "Its body is hollow. It is said that those who look into its body are sucked into the void"
Drifloon: "It is whispered that any child who mistakes Drifloon for a balloon and holds onto it could wind up missing"
Shedinja: "A discarded bug shell that came to life. Peering into the crack on its back is said to steal one's spirit" (in game sprites, of course, always have its crack facing the player)
Gorebyss: "A Gorebyss siphons the body fluids of prey through its thin, tubular mouth. Its light pink body turns vivid when it finished feeding"
Yveltal: "When its life comes to an end, it absorbs the life energy of every living thing and turns into a cocoon once more"
Cubone: "Wears the skull of its deceased mother. Its cries echo inside the skull and come out as a sad melody." (Although with so much Pokemon breeding going on, this should be the logical conclusion)

Even creepier is the fact that on the main website, Junji's comment describes Banette with that exact pokedex entree, saying that "she's got a new doll" and he's basically finally found her and is stalking her...
There are a few more illustrations to come, too. Yikes...

Well, from what I've heard of Mr. Ito,his pokemon aren't going to be the sweet and cuddly types we're used to seeing. I've often hoped that he'd do something for the American market, you know, some manga for his American fans. I think he would have fit right in at the old EC Comics company in the 1950's. They made a lot of horror comics then,so this guy would have made a great addition to that place.
