That's a terrible cosplay picture. Oh, it looks cool, but you barely see anything of his actual cosplay, which I guess would look impressive, but how can I know from this photo? He could just be wearing a bit of costume makeup and be holding a block of wood for all that you can tell. Also, they shopped light effects on what little of the costume you might have been able to see (Aang's arrow tattoo), and they didn't even do it right! Since Aang also has glowing tattoos on his arms when he's in Avatar state.

What I really want to know is if the cosplayer shaved his head to play Aang. Met quite a few people (men and women) at cons who did that. It's very impressive!

Just took a closer peek at the picture (couldn't really see it at all from my Blackberry). What is up with all the blood? And that chest wound? When did Aang ever have that?

I was wondering the same as Agent355, but I thought it was just me forgetting some part of the series. And I have to agree with meruru, the photo doesn't really show anything about the cosplay. Since the only Avatar things are the shining arrow and eyes, for all we know, the guy could be wearing jeans and the Avatar stuff could be entirely photoshopped. I'm not doubting the cosplayer, I just don't think this photograph showcases the cosplayer's work at all

It was his own take on Aang. He never really did have the blood and what not, but one thing Dat(the cosplayer)likes to do is if he's doing a cosplay of someone from a kids series, he likes to re-imagine them if the series was more geared towards young adults, or if it were an actual anime. So he did a battle damage version of Aang.

He's got a lot more on his page from when he did a battle damage version of Aang which was his big cosplay that got him known.

Go check him out! He has a lot of great stuff! I wish I had the chance to resubmit a photo I took a week before this got posted. Did a shot of him cosplaying as Poison from Street Fighter/Final Fight which you'll see on his page now. Anime smile

Forgot to reply to this one. lol But yeah, his head is shaved. He normally keeps it shaved now so he can wear wigs better, so it just fit him. Smile

Fair enough(at least you weren't being a dick about like meruru was. LOL. At least that's the way I saw it, he probably wasn't, but to me he came off harsh from the first sentence.).

Yeah, when I submitted this, I looked back and was like "damn, I got many better photos of him, but it was the first one that came to mind since Dat(the cosplayer)is going to be selling prints of this beginning next month and he asked me for a high-res of it recently, so it was the first I thought of submitting of him.

Just incase anyone would like to know what all he wore that day, here is a full body shot of it.

I personally didn't care too much for this shot which is completely on me, but it was something for me to play around with at the time. We did paint the arrows on his arms, legs and head, and then I was toying around with photoshop to make them glow(which was my first time ever doing that, so yeah...it probably sucks, I ain't gonna lie. But it was something new I wanted to try at the time. This was back in April by the way.) Since this shoot I've learned a lot more with it, so yeah. *shrug* Still learning, still growing, and still see need improvement. But the moment we stop needing to grow is the day we need to stop doing what we do because it's no longer a challenge.
