Is it just me or the character designs for the anime look way more badass than the original light novel ones?

I haven't seen the light novel version, but yes, the characters do look badass.

And with Tatsuo Sato on directing helm, there might be something to the light novel that may be more than meets the eye. We'll see.

Same here, haven't seen the light novel but I really like the look of the designs.

Yeah darkchibi07, Sato ups my interest in this as well.
