SnK dominating, not surprised. It'll probably be a matter of time before Assassination Classroom gets a full TV anime adaptation.

I see three series in the top 20 that don't currently have an anime adaption, or have one planned. I hope Assassination Classroom, and Shokugeki no Soma get one soon!

I'm glad Assassination Classroom is doing so well! It's actually a really good series. I just hope it gets an anime adaption soon!

Souma needs an anime ASAP. Xebec can do it. |

Toriko didn't make the list BWAHAHAHAHA.
It's the only long running (over 2 years) that didn't apart from the on hiatus hunterxhunter and Kochikame which hasn't in years. Lets compare to last year's list ( animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-06-02/top-selling-manga-in-japan-by-series/2013-first-half ) Naruto is up Magi is down a lot Kuroko is actually down Silver Spoon is up nearly a million yay Fairy Tail is down ( I said the new anime would make no difference in it's yearly decline) Last edited by Ushio on Tue Jun 03, 2014 10:03 pm; edited 1 time in total |

If Tokyo Ghoul is given a decent anime this July, it's sales could jump up by the end of the year. The MC undergoes one of the most interesting character development I've seen in quite a while.

I'm glad to see Assasinaton Classroom and Silver Spoon in the top 10. I'm finally starting to read Souma and I like it so far enough to be happy it's successful anime or no. Maybe this'll finally be the year I seriously read more of attack on titan aside from the first volume I bought for the F of it.

As expected for Attack on Titan to dominate the first half.

Two volumes, as far as I know. It surely wouldn't have looked the same if more than one volume was sold though, possibly for other series aswell. |

3? In top 70 there are ALL 13 volumes, while there are just 2 OP volumes in top 100. |

Not to mention those Snk spinoffs and unlimited editions. |

No...Xebec can't make it pretty enough. One of the things Souma has over many of these other series is that the art in it is so very impressive...Xebec don't make their series pretty enough to carry that across into an anime imo. There are a few studio's who could though. I'm actually somewhat surprised to see Bleach so high, it's been doing pretty poorly in the rankings (I'm happy to see it high btw) obviously it's fallen but that was always going to happen. Also I'm surprised Assassination Classroom hasn't got an anime yet, maybe they're waiting so they can make a contiuous series? |

No Toriko, kind of surprising but also not really, and no Jojo's, less surprising but also kind of?

Toriko didn't even make the top 30, thanks Toei you utter disgraces! They seriously butchered the Cooking Festival arc, that arc in the manga was phenomenal and adapted properly could have done for Toriko what Marineford did for One Piece. I want them well away from any future Toriko adaptation though it's not like they can even continue with it if they wanted since they messed with the story beyond the point of salvation.
Anyway as for the rest a lot of series getting anime boosts like in the LN rankings. SnK's success continues to bemuse me but congrats to it's mangaka, not easy to pull off that level of hit and for his first series no less. |
