So, it's that time of year again. Here are the two charts (whichever suits you best):
http://anichart.net/summer
http://static.neregate.com/2014/06/neregate.com-Summer-2014-Anime-Chart-v3.jpg

Definitely watching:

Terror in Tokyo
I'm not as big of a fan of Shinichiro Watanabe as most people, but after watching this PV I'm pretty sure this is going to be awesome.

ALDNOAH.ZERO
This is pretty much a given. Since Puella Magi Madoka Magica, I've never missed a single anime by Gen Urobuchi. What I really like about this one, though, is the fact that it's going to be directed by Ei Aoki, who did Ga-Rei: Zero, Hourou Musuko, and Fate/ZERO, all of which show how good he is. Also, looking forward to the epic music by Hiroyuki Sawano (Guilty Crown, Attack on Titan).

Will try out:

Tokyo ESP
Not a lot of information about this, but I kinda like the promotional artwork.

Sword Art Online II
I'm not gonna lie, I enjoyed the first 14 episodes of SAO. However, I really hated the rest of it. Let's see how I will feel about this one.

Since I am lazy and unoriginal prick,I will use your format Ignatz

Definitely watching:

ALDNOAH.ZERO
From the interview with the Aniplex producer,we know that they are trying to create a new Gundam with this show, which is something that immediately attracts my attention.Ei Aoki and his team from Ga-Rei: Zero are working on this project, which is great news, considering how good that show was. From the amount of promotion this show is getting and the luxurious time slot it has, it is obvious that there is a lot of money put into this project.Everything seems to be in it's place for a great show.

Space☆Dandy 2
First season is great and the second season is continuation greatness.

Terror in Resonance
One of the best anime directors working now is directing this show, and the PV looked amazing. Moreover Maruyama mentioned how this anime will show us Watanabe's "other" side, which makes it all better since I like directors that constantly go out of their comfort zone. The only thing that kinda scares me is that the writer's name wasn't announced , but my fears are irrational.

High interest:

Tokyo Ghoul
Source material is really cool action manga and from what people tell me the best parts still haven't been translated.Director is good , his previous works were decent and you can definitely see how he is improving over the years.Additionally the writer is playwright , it's safe to say I am interested.

Nobunaga Concerto
The premise is overused , but this is an award winning manga with the art style that looks serious and interesting. The staff is also apparently experimenting with CG and rotoscope , now I know how that is a big No to most people , but honestly I like seeing people experiment with animation.

Will try out:

Tokyo ESP
No staff revealed one month before premiere...Premise and art are decent though.
Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen
Director mostly worked on crap shows , but Tatsuo Sato is great and it seems as if the show is going to have realistic mechas.I can't remember the last time we had one of those , yeah I am keeping my eyes on this.

Very little catching my eye for upcoming season.

High interest:
Zankyou no Terror:
Watanabe and Kanno so I'm always willing to give that combo a try.

Tokyo Kushu (Tokyo Ghoul):
I've read some of the manga, so I'm curious how it will translate to the screen. Horror? Not really, unless they play it up in the anime which would be cool. Gore? Oh, it certainly could be, which again I'm curious how they will adapt the source material.

Maybe give it a few episodes:
Aldnoah.Zero:
Sure why not. I'm not really in the mood for another Mecha series since the last few I've seen have been meh to me, but I'll give this one a chance.

Barakamon:
Looking at the description it could be cute and funny or it could be boring. We'll see if it surprises.

Tokyo ESP:
Cover art looks interesting and the manga's been running for what like 4 years? So, they probably have enough material to work with.

Not much else really. I've kind of gotten tired of the Monogatari series so I'm not really interested in continuing with it. As far as everything else..well <shrugs> I'll keep my ear to the ground and see if anything else gets any buzz.

Zankyou no Terror all the way. I'm loving the character design, and the premise reeks of political intrigue, which is not something I often see in anime.

Summer's looking crazy busy and a handful of my spring shows are continuing, so I don't know what to do haha. For the time being

Definite watches:

Kuroshitsuji Circus, Free 2, Sailor Moon Crystal, Sengoku Basara 3, basically sequels, no other particular reason.

Love Stage- First yaoi series in forever, of course I'm watching it. I love the manga also.

Nobunaga Concerto- I'm sold on anything remotely connected to the Sengoku period, and this one has a more serious looking artstyle, so it might be better than the average Nobunaga summer flick.

High interest

Aldnoah.Zero- I'm not quite into Gundam, but I watch everything Urobuchi makes, so at least on that front I'm excited about this.

Glasslip. I'm not big on P.A. Works, but NagiAsu was amazing and Eccentric Family is one of my all time favorites。The premise also sounds pretty unique

Bakumatsu Rock. It sounds so ludicrously UtaPri-meets-Hakuoki I just have to watch it.

Check out:

Tokyo ESP- The premise is promising and I like the promo design

Zankyou no Terror - Watanabe-Kanno, I'll give it a try at least

Hanayamata- Sounds cute and the character design is adorable

DRAMatical Murder. BL websites have been losing their shit over this one for a while, so I'm at least interested in checking it out.

Depending on the reactions I seE, and how the other shows turn out, I may or may not check out Ao Haru Ride, Akame ga Kill and the second season of Prisma Illya

I almost finished this and then I accidentally closed the window. so, trying again:

Definitely Watching
Akame ga Kill - This looks good, and I do like dark action fantasy
Fate Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei! - enjoyed seaosn 1 and I'd love to see another fantastic fight sequence
Free! - Eternal Summer - I liked season 1
Glasslip - I am a fan of P.A. Works, and glassblowing fascinates me
Hanamonogatari - Time for some kanbaru
Sailor Moon Crystal - been looking forward to this for a while
Space Dandy 2 - absolutely loved season 1
Strange+ 2 - really dumb and sometimes amusing and only a few minutes long
Sword Art Online 2 - it wasn't good, but I did like most of the first season
Yama no Susume 2 - first season was calm and relaxing. Looking forward to more and longer episodes

High Interest
Aldnoah.Zero - Not much of a mecha fan, but the premise does interest me and I like what I've seen from Urobuchi, so I'll try this
Ao Haru Ride - sounds like it could be funny
Bakaramon - as does this
Black Butler 3 - I'm a fan, of season 1, but not 2
Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita. - Town idols, sounds neat
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - I like rom coms and I've enjoyed most of what I have seen from Dogakobo
Jinsei - very vague synopsis, but I'm willing to try it
Kantai Collection - similar concept to Arpeggio of Blue Steel, which I really liked, so I'll try this
Rail Wars! - this is certainly different and sounds like it will be fun
Sabagebu - I'm hoping it's better than C3-bu
Tokyo ESP - I like premise, I just wish there was more info about the show
Zankyou no Terror - This looks good and I really like the staff

Ehhhhhhh, maybe?
Hanayamata - This could be good, but I don't know long dancing will be able to hold my attention
Himegoto - This will probably be terrible, but I cant help myself. might try it
Magimoji Rurumo - that's one hell of a synopsis on anichart. concidering trying it
Momo Kyun Sword - another genderbender. could be fun, could be crap. only one way to find out
Persona 4 Golden - I liked the non golden version, but I don't think i need to watch it again so soon. guess it will depend on how much changes with the new character
Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!? - sounds funny, but at the same time, looks like it's trying to do way too much
Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance - not sure. maybe
Sengoku Basara 3 I recently started season 1 and so far I like it, but I don't believe I will finish season 1,2 and the movie by the time this airs, so I'll probably wait
Tokyo Ghoul - horror, might give it a shot

I've got eight shows continuing from spring, so this is gonna be a busy season

Thank you Ignatz for making the thread.

Good god is A1 making a lot of anime this season. Yikes.

I haven't included most of the OVAs in this list, because that would be too much work.

Feel free to borrow this template.

====================

Definitely Watching

Hanamonogatari
I do like the -monogatari franchise, and Suruga is a great girl, so this is a no-brainer.

Sword Art Online II
Nah, just kidding, LOL. Not watching this at all.

There's nothing else that I can honestly say I'll be following to the end. It's way too early to tell.

====================

High Interest, Will Check Out With Optimism

Aldnoah.Zero
Solely because of the staff. I don't know whether it will live up to the high expectations placed on it but Urobuchi has a proven track record.

Ao Haru Ride
The blurb is generic but I am drawn to the art style.

Barakamon
The art looks good and for once the premise is interesting too.

Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei!
I liked the first season; didn't think it was great but it had its charms. Pretty keen on seeing where they go next with the franchise.

Sailor Moon
This will be my first foray into the franchise but this is a good time to do so. I hope it is good.

Yama no Susume 2
First season was sweet and charming, I'm very much looking forward to this sequel.

====================

Middling Interest, Will Check Out With Grounded Expectations

Akame ga KILL
I think restraint is needed but this has been getting lots of buzz and so I'm at least curious about it.

Free! -Eternal Summer-
I watched and (mostly) enjoyed the first season. Hoping that the homoerotic undertones aren't too strong this time, because they threatened to ruin what was otherwise a solid sports story.

Glasslip
I don't like P.A. Works but they do make pretty stuff, and a glass artisan anime sounds kinda neat.

Hanayamata
As the years roll by I'm finding myself being more tolerant towards "cute girls doing cute things" type anime. Strange.

PSYCHO-PASS
I've already watched it so it is hard to say if this repeat with the longer episodes and extra footage will add anything to the experience. And shame on it for tricking me into thinking that this was the highly-anticipated second season.

Shounen Hollywood
Another idol show, but this one looks like it might be better than most.

Space Dandy 2
Similar boat as Free! -Eternal Summer-. I liked some of the episodes of season one but felt others were crap. And the characters still intensely annoy me. Will not be expecting too much from this.

Strange+ 2
The first season was watchable but very weird and bizarre, so I'm not entirely on-board with watching more.

Tokyo Ghoul
As long as the "dark" in "dark fantasy" is handled correctly, this could be quite good.

Zankyou no Terror
No idea what to make of this, but it doesn't automatically make me cringe so that's good I guess.

====================

Low Interest, Will Check Out But Aren't Expecting Anything

Francesca
Wow, an undead idol fighting zombie Shinsengumi. What will Japan think of next?

Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita
Seriously, town idols? Could be quirky and fun, but I won't hold my breath.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
Sigh. Another anime about a high-school manga-ka, and this time a romcom.

Jinsei
From the description it seems a bit dull but the humour could save it.

Medamayaki no Kimi Itsu Tsubusu?
Strange premise aside, is this going to have short episodes or something?

Nobunaga Concerto
Phew. For a minute there I thought this season was going to be without the mandatory Oda Nobunaga show.

Rail Wars!
Railway propaganda from the left, LOL. But on a more serious note, this is Passione's first go at making a full-length episode series, so expect some teething problems.

Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?
With the right tone and clever humour this could be passable. Probably won't be though.

Sabagebu!
So these girls are in a survival club but the picture shows them eating dessert. Makes sense; how can teenage girls possibly survive without their strawberries?

Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen
XEBEC's record of making numerous clunkers in its time doesn't inspire much hope.

====================

For The LOL

DRAMAtical Murder
I don't really like BL. It's just not my cup of tea. I'll still give it one episode to make its case.

Himegoto
If this is good then I'll eat a shoe. I mean come on, the blurb alone is cringe-inducing.

Kantai Collection
This is huge in Japan and I want to see what the fuss is about.

Love Stage!!
It pays to be wary towards shows with two exclamation marks. More saliently, it's more BL.

Magimoji Rurumo
I'm actually planning to watch an episode of this; shoot me now.

Momo Kyun Sword
I might've been able to take it seriously if the girls actually wore some clothing. I've seen lingerie that covered more than whatever the heck they're wearing.

Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance
When a show starts with a teenage boy "accidentally" peeping, you know looking at the bottom of the barrel.

Tokyo ESP
Wow, was the original manga-ka on drugs or something when they wrote this? Because seriously, a fish that gives you psychic powers? This sounds pretty trippy.

Well I usually check out most things, so a short list would be what I'm not going to watch. So here are my toughts on only a few:

Aldnoah.Zero and Shirogane no Ishi Argevollen: They're mecha anime, so I'm contractually obligated to watch! Laughing

Barakamon: Love the manga. If you want something sweet, funny, and charming, this is a show for you.

Sailor Moon Crystal: Been forever since I watched the original, but it'll be interesting to reconnect with the first anime girls I ever had the hots for.

Free! Eternal Summer: Season 1 was great, so I'm expecting a lot from season 2.

Glasslip: PA Works original series are great and this should be no exception.

Hanamonogatari: I really need to finish Monogatari season 2...

Himegoto: Traps are fun, but from what I've seen from the manga, it's basically about him being abused by a group of girls. Have to see how much that bothers me.

Kantai Collection: Hopefully now I'll be able to appreciate all that porn.

Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?: I really like Silver Link and it looks like fun.

Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance: Woah, this is airing already? I only saw the announcement for the anime and no reports after that. I'm reading the light novels right now and they're quite enjoyable. I won't go to bat for the series quite like I did for Mahouka, because Blade Dance is the kind of title you expect it is. You can look at it as a fantasy version of Infinite Stratos, with Kamito being the only male at a school meant to train special powers that only girls have. Thankfully he's not as stupid or incompetant as Ichika was. I also give it props for putting quite a bit of importance on advancing the plot and not dragging out all the mysteries forever. It's a fanservice harem show, yeah, but I think you'll find it better than most. Looking at the website, I'm also really liking the character designs and it's interesting that all the voice actors are newcomers.

Sword Art Online II: I'll be watching it, though I'm not hyped or anything.

Tokyo ESP: I like the manga, but I'm a bit cautious of what the anime will look like based on that promo image. Well, that didn't stop me from watching Machine Doll.

Strange+ 2: I actually enjoyed this quite a bit so of course I'm up for more.

I haven't checked out all the shows yet, but the first image I saw related to this "Terror in Tokyo" show was this one:

I have early concerns about this show drawing from 9/11 sensationalism. I hope it doesn't address this subject matter in a crude manner.

Stuff I'm excited for...

Space Dandy - The only real sure thing. The first half was pretty great. Not a masterpiece overall but consistently fun and occasionally brilliant. Obviously gonna tune in for the second half.

Terror in Tokyo - Look, I have some reservations about this show. I'm just not really sure how they're gonna make the main characters full blown terrorist bombers without either A) making them completely contemptible or B) Really reaching to justify/hand wave the whole scenario. That said, I'm not a brilliant anime creator. And I'm pretty happy to assume the star studded creative team behind this has something great up their sleeves. Seriously. If you asked me to put together a dream production team it would undoubtably include Watanable, Kanno and Nakazawa.

Aldnoah Zero - My enthusiasm for Urobuchi has cooled since Gargantia. Although I get the impression he wasn't very hands on with that production and maybe he will be here. Plus Ei Aoki is a competent director so that's something.

Tokyo Ghoul - Cool. Dark fantasy horror that actually feels like dark fantasy horror. Definitely worth checking out.

And the rest...

Tokyo ESP - Basically sound like another modern fantasy scifi blend. Based on a manga and not a LN so that's something. At least worth having a peek at.

Silver Will Argevollen - Everything about this screams generic so far but not necessarily bad, so who knows. Will see when more info is available.

Rail Wars - Trains are kewl. This show...probably won't be. I mean, nothing about it indicates it will actually be good. B-but...trains. So yeah, maybe I'll at least check it out.

Agame ga Killl - Dark fantasy that actually feels like...nope. This one feels more like Future Diary-esque otaku stuff but with lots of gore tossed in. But I could be wrong. Will see.

It's been nearly 13 years. Is 9/11 sensationalism really still a thing? Whatever the case, I don't see a Japanese production trying something like that.

Definitely:

-Tokyo ESP!!! : Manga is very entertaining. 3 awesome girls right here Wink
-Sailor Moon: why? Because she is the one
-Gekkan Shoujo: If they follow the original material closely, not much will happen lol but it's still hilarious

Will check out:

-Akame ga Kill
-Psychopass: Although I enjoyed the later half of the series, I skipped a bunch of the early episodes. Hopefully this will fill in some blanks :p
-Kuroshitsuji Circus: Sebastian. Enough said.
-Aldnoah. Zero
-Magimoji Rurumo: The shortened life-span could provide some good development
-Tokyo Ghoul

I'll try to push through some sword art. Hated season one, but maybe this will be better
