This is the ultimate truth: Di Gi Charat is simply asskicking cool!
Dejiko - mean, moody, egoistic and.. KAWAII!
Puchiko - the sweetest of all characters in the anime.
The rest? Hmm, they do not count as much. :))
Haven't seen it yet?! MAN (or Woman :)) move your lower part and get it!
I tell you all there is nothing better than this series!
The most crazy episode I've seen was 11 from the first series - Hokuhoku Gohan-nyo (steamy hot rice). Pure nonsense in a pill. Anyway, saying that one episode is is better than other is simply lying. All eps are equally twisted, and all rock!!
Well even Rabi-en-Rose and Pyoko rulle ('Cos they are just soo sweet).
Conclusion: You haven't seen it? Ghoti sayz: See it now! (That's an order!)
:)

They're both good, but there's nothing like the old school like Dragon Half and Elf Princess Rane, sooo bizzare. And how about Guru Guru? Why hasn't anyone picked that up over here yet!?

Hmm... I'm affraid I haven't(yet) seen the ExcelSaga, but I swear I'll make it up.
As for DragonHalf it rocks! After watching just 2 eps I was ROTFL... and had to watch them again like 3 more times!
Elf Princess Rane - haven't seen it...
Guru Guru - haven't seen it...
Sniff... so many anime, and so little time...

As soon as I can find Digi Charat I'll give it a look see. I can vouch for Excel Saga. It's a great parody of modern anime. But let us not forget the original parody of the greats: Project A-ko. That was the very, VERY first anime I ever watched, and I loved it. Now I go back to it and see them poking fun at Captain Harlock and Star Battleship Yamato and laugh until I see purple.

Wow, i've seen all the anime mentioned. Here are my problems with each..
Guru Guru : I liked another series very similar to it more..
Excel Saga: The craziness gets old pretty quick.. doesn't pick up with its true humor and wit (parodies) until the end again.
DiGi Charat: I liked it, but I can't vouch for other people liking it. nyo nyo nyo nyo nyu nyu gema gema SHUT THE HELL UP.
Rane: I love that show, but it is SO unfinished
Dragon Half: See above.. plus i think the newer anime had an easier time animating craziness with new animation techniques.
Crazy or at least moderately absurd anime that I think are better than the ones mentioned:
Kodomo no Omocha.. its pretty crazy in the begining, but it gets deeper which is a welcome twist (excel saga just died for me because after a while the humor got old and I wanted something more, or at least something different). Theres no threat of the series not ending because its over 100 episodes (102 i believe). Plus, the ending song ^^;
Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Nochi Guu: This one's pretty crazy; I haven't seen it all yet, but there's a darkness to the show that contrasts so sharply with the cheery, zany, crazy atmosphere that works really well (for me). I don't think its licensed yet, and an OVA is coming out soon (or already came out) in japan.. so I'm assuming it was moderately popular there. The Opening song is great, the soundtrack fits, and it keeps a plot so that its not just driven by zany humor that tends to rapidly fall on its face when acting as a driving mechanism for a show.
Sexy Commando, Sugoiyo Masaru-San! : Ok, this one *is* crazy, but since its a series of mostly short episodes (5 min?), and is one of the most bizarre things that I've ever seen, it definitely keeps my attention throughout. I like shorts.
Oh well theres my list.

Well, today must be my lucky day, Gai Super Napalm. You didn't have anything to say about Project A-ko. Of course, sentimentality is a huge part of the reason I like it so much. It was the very first anime I ever saw, followed by Dominion Tank Police. Makes me feel all misty just thinking about those days. Ah well.
and Emerje, ain't you cold in that?
