[EDIT: EVEN THOUGH CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR AWESOME, IT STILL COMES OFF AS SHOUTING, SO DON'T TITLE THREADS IN ALL CAPS. ~ZALIS]

Hi all, I've been quite an anime fan for a while now, as im guessing that most of the people reading this are. ANIME RULES!!!!

Now, I been very busy with life, money, GF and all that shit, so I haven't had much time for anime really, as she doesn’t like anime and the rest of my mates are about the same. But fudge them I still like anime so im trying to get back in to it.

My question is that I work for a call center and I can very bored som times so I want something to read while in this hell whole. But I want to get stuff that I like already so what im going to do is give a list of manga that I like. If anyone can give me any suggestions for something new to read it would help me out from not killing my self in here lol.

Right.

AKIRA: I have all the akria books. they were amazing, if I could erase my memory of thos books I would. Red dwarf ur so amazing . That’s prob my fav as it took a very long time to read all of it.

( im looking for something that could be a very long read)

GHOST IN THE SHELL: watch the film read the manga. Well anything from Masamune Shirow (appleseed, ect)

BATTLE ANGEL ALTIA:THE LAST ORDER very good anime that id enjoyed reading and collecting after watching the film, that I have been told was only a very small part of the first collection of altia books.

FLCL: that was just a one off mad roller coaster ride of weird manga that the anime def improved on that is quite rare.

Um….. there are a few others but the manga that im reading at the moment is THE KUROSAGI CORPSE DELIVERY SERVICE. Very weird anime about these people that can talk to dead people and help the dead escape from there body after the group help them on som quest they have.

Id just like to add that I really like cowboy bebop the series(TV) so that mite help you guys tell me what I should read.

I like just weird Psychological stoires that arent of this earth. But have a style like domu.

If any of you guys have any suggestion I would be very grate full.

PEACE OUT

Okay, I'm going to take a wild leap of faith and assume that when you say "book", you mean a real honest-to-goodness book with no pictures in it. That being the case, here's my suggestion:

Go to the library and borrow any book from among the works of Haruki Murakami, for instance The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, A Wild Sheep Chase or South of the Border, West of the Sun.

Murakami has a wonderful style that is at once consummately weird and surrealistic, and at the same time very readable. He's never obscure just for the sake of being obscure, as some inferior writers may happen to be.

If you don't mind spoilers, there's a long and fairly in-depth discussion of Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World and how it relates to the anime Haibane Renmei, in this thread.
