That is some massive bullshit. To think we almost had that music video in HD. It's not like you're showing Aska what for by doing this, you're just giving fans the middle finger. I can understand cutting current ties with someone who charged for things or says awful things, but to discount earlier works all together and pretend they never existed is just stupid.

walw: It's a cultural thing. The Japanese really don't tolerate drug use.

The drug Aska was arrested for was MDMA (aka Ecstasy).

it's not these companies, but the asian culture that's the problem. i don't understand how they think. they really think fans would boycott it cause the guy got a drug problem? it's the fans that get punished not getting this video. lesser product for the same price.
like recently in korea with the ferry sinking and a couple hundred dead. they shut down the entire pop music industry for like a month. so people died and that sucks, but why take away music from it's fans? |

This kind of hypocrisy is one of the few things I truly hate from Japan.

This is ridiculous puritanical overreaction at an almost absurd level.
Let's face it, if you recalled all the CDs made by artists who had been hauled up on a drugs charge, the record shop shelves would be empty. Think of all the great music made by artists who we know full well had taken drugs. |

What the actual fudge. Even putting everything else aside, does the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" just not exist in Japan?

I am getting really tired of all of your ridiculous reactionary hypocrisy, Japan (and Asia in general). Shit's getting old.

Wow this seems rather excessive. I understand terminating the contract or not doing any more print runs but recalling everything? Seems like they are trying to erase his very existence.

Japan is not Puritan; they just really hate illegal drugs. "Drug Laws in Japan: You’d Better Have A Prescription"

This is just about the most stupid thing I've ever heard. Nothing less from Japan when it comes to how they treat drug use, though. They make American law look progressive.
And it's really too bad. "On Your Mark" is a wonderful creation, and it would've been great to see it in HD. |
