I truly hope that at some point Japan (and the rest of the world) will come to accept that musicians occasionally smoke weed. That might not be the case here, as Aska denies the charge. But seriously, of all of the problems in this world, why waste money, effort, people's ability to earn a living, and the music that could have been created by locking up more musicians? An irresponsible waste. Rolling Eyes

The article doesn't specify marijuana though, or any drug.

Assuming the drugs here in question are in fact weed, then that brings up a whole other can of worms in terms of whether or not it should be illegal

Because if you do drugs...

Anyways, it still surprises me to this day how harsh the drug laws in Japan are. Japan is one of those places that I though would have a massive cannabis culture.

By the way, cocaine would've been my second guess for the drug in question.

It's absolutely ludicrous that you should be put in a cage for marijuana, coca, lsd, or anything. Hence the only place a truly free market exists is in the black market. This is one of the areas nearly untouched in manga/anime and is a IMO an untapped opportunity. I'm sure though any title advocating it or more generally free markets, would go through the entire rigamarole as Imouto Paradise again. But that would also help prove the point in such a manga.

I'm just speculating, but if he's being truthful, it could be that he got drugs he thought were legal to treat his condition (the TIA) that turned out not to be. However, I wouldn't blame him at all to say that just for his own safety.
