Looks great.
I really hope that's Rodan diving into the sea.
If a nuke can't take out Godzilla, then another monster can.

Now this is a Godzilla movie. No Ferris Bueller. No Simpsons voice actors. No random Frenchman. No awkward asexual subplotting. No oblique caricatures of Siskel and Ebert.
Just terror, wanton destruction, and the impending annihilation of mankind.
And Heisenberg.

ya damn right skippy. even godzilla 2000 fell a little short, I suppose its a kaiju movie but even godzilla 1984 felt more..... grim.

Looks nicely ominous but it's also starting to look more and more Lovecraftian - add a cult and a sunken city and we got The Call of Godzilla. It's not a bad angle to take, though, as the "Elder God" idea was even brought up in the original movie. Well, "local god" but it's close enough.
Still, there's not even one silly line for the trailer; This seems to go beyond the original remake as it's almost as if these people also saw Pacific Rim and asked "Apocalypse? What apocalypse?"
Last impression from the trailer: the movie stars Bryan Cranston, with Godzilla time permitting.

I've waited along time for a Godzilla movie that stays somewhat true to the classics, and at least lives up to them - maybe this will :3

I've been a fan of the big grey guy since the mid 1960's.
It does a soul good to see him given life like this. Mysterious and Destructive with a few big costars thrown in, oh, and a bunch of humans too.

Trailer looks good. It shouldn't be difficult to improve upon the last attempt, at least. The main thing I remember from the 1998 version is the characters discussing, at length, how there was absolutely no time to waste because the bomb was about to go off.
Interesting to see Malcolm's father dealing with giant monsters.

98 was a bad Godzilla movie.
However, it did lead to the awesome as heck cartoon which fixed a lot of the issues 98 had. (They gave it back THE Breath, for instance) Plus it was more "Godzilla" in nature than "Zilla." Heck, Zilla got its rear kicked by the original in not even 10 seconds in Final Wars.
