And this is all happening in the year 2014. Wow.

It really is overwhelming. Also, I'm guessing that the champagne is for Ryoma, which wouldn't be right to publicize since he's a minor. Then again, most of the characters in POT are teenagers who are probably below the legal drinking age, so it wouldn't be good to publicize it anyway.

My first thought went to Tezuka because he's always viewed as older by a lot of the adults and was actually offered alcohol in the series. Anime hyper

Shueisha should just encourage them to donate to their local charities or children's hospital instead.

"Please send 'em to charity and just send us the donation tax form for counting instead."

"teenagers [...] probably below the drinking age"

a quick google search will tell you that the legal drinking age in Japan is 20, so being a teenager is, by definition, below the legal drinking age Razz

What a huge waste of money... I love PoT but honestly, that's too much. Create a kickstarter account or something similar and let them donate money to their favorite character, and whoever get the most donations wins. Then give all the money to charity. I suppose charities could sell all that chocolate, but it would cost them to do it.
