I just died when I saw Jesus. My roommates have decided to ignore their lunatic friend laughing on the sofa.

As an older Otaku I have many favorites that I would like to receive chocolate from on Valentine's Day or that I would like to give chocolate to on White Day.
Here they are:
Akane Tendo (Ranma1/2)
Matoko Aoyama (Love Hina)
Lina Inverse (Slayers)
Akari Mizunashi (Aria)
Taiga Aisaka (Tora Dora)
Mio Akayama (K-on)
Umi Matsuzaki (From Up On Poppy Hill)
Kobeni Yonomori (Engaged to the Unidentified)

You just have to love how women love Gintoki, of all people. Then again, he is a loveable scamp.

Gotta note two things: All characters are from manga and the male choices for which female characters tells me a lot about the ages of male ebook users - or the state of female characters in modern manga.
Takahashi, Takahashi and Adachi... all from the 80s?
Or maybe nothing. Lum? Kyoko? Not either of the older Ayase sisters from Yotsuba!, no one from Kouji Seo's works {wait, I get that one} or... or?
Yeah, iconic female characters seem few and far between these days, I guess? They seem to gravitate between "stock shoujo heroine" or "love interest 1/2".
My top three:
Fuuka Ayase from Yotsuba!, Mutsumi Otohime from Love Hina! and Eri Sawchika from School Rumble. I think the keyword here would be "heartfelt".

All these choices are funny and nice! My ideal valentine would be Kenshiro, because he is dreamy and would probably share my homemade chocolate with a village of starving peasant children.

Quote: | 5. Amri Halgal from A Bride's Story |
It's actually Amir Halgal (アミル・ハルガル), not "Amri" Halgal. Sorry, can't overlook a typo when it concerns one of my most favorite manga on the market!
Anyway, didn't expect to see her on the list-- has A Bride's Story really been that popular? Still, Amir definitely deserves the spot; she's such a sweet character! Maybe Amir has a bit of a Mary Sue in her-- Mori seems to acknowledge as much in the afterword of the first volume, when she reflects on all the characteristics (charm points?) she came up with for her-- but she's still part of the reason why the series is as good as it is to me.

Wow, I don't think that I've seen Kyoko Otonashi mentioned by anyone in a long time!
As for anime crushes that I'd want to receive chocolate from, mine would be Madoka Ayukawa from Kimagure Orange Road and Eve from Megazone 23.

Kyoko? I'm surprised that someone who's not only legal, but older than the girls who sell merch in Japan would be the fan favorite.
