So, having seen that Tezuka stuff seems to have a bigger draw than similar products, it looks like Anime Sols is trying out non-video anime products, at least to my untrained eyes.

I'm not sure what you mean; both of the Tezuka TV movie funding drives failed. I can't say I'm interested in these projects myself and they seem kind of strange ideas to me. |

While I approve what they're trying to do with the merchandising effort, the book itself is really a re-release of what DMP released a decade ago. We're just getting a new translation if anything else. You're better off with that previous book if you can still find a copy someplace. Thank you for pointing this out to me. Believe it or not, neither Tezuka Pro (nor I) had realized this had been licensed 10 years ago... After some researching, they found the license has expired and the books are currently out of print, plus the english translation rights haven't reverted to Tezuka Pro, so we are going to have to retranslate it. Considering this new information we're going to see if we can't add anything special and unique... Note: Our project is for a single volume version which has basically the same content (slightly re-arranged) as that 2 volume version. |

This is what I get for pointing the obvious I guess.
Yes, I see your point there. In most cases, translations should be owned by the original creators as I see it (in theory), that way you wouldn't have this problem occurring later on.
Hopefully the new material makes it worthwhile! I know a few who may pick this up. |

So, is this in lieu of new DVD set projects for now?
