Wow this is really awesome, I thought it was really cool when the BV panel had an audio file to go along with the con report. I really like the highlight video it's all things you want to see without paying for the con.....

Yep, I did. Bamboo is definitely the right one for these interviews. Just the look on her face when the words "abortion machine" comes up is priceless! This is a great new feature.

with all due respect, some of the people asking panel questions were extremely ignorant. it's like they had no idea who the companies are.

ANN = win
Stuff like this is what makes me set ANN as a homepage and look at the front page everyday. Thank you ANN staff for great coverage.

This is so cool, I always hope that someone will do a video coverage of all the cons that happen within a year because there is no way we (fans) could attend all of them. Thank you so much. Keep the videos coming guys!

Yeah, that happens a lot. Typically it's much worse at creator panels, though. Poor directors and producers get questions like, "You know when Character X tells Character Y he loves her but doesn't do anything? What did THAT mean?" and "I don't like the ending you made. Can you make a sequel?" I cringe every time. Then when they ask those same questions to a characte designer, I just want to shoot them.
But hey, that's conventions. Fantasy/comic/Sci-fi ones too. Kinda makes you appreciate journalists who can ask intelligent questions, huh?

A small suggestion: can the length of each video be added?

Situations like these in American cons always bug me. I just don't understand why panels at American cons allow just about everyone to ask whatever question, no matter how stupid or insulting they might be. The host and staff should at very least filter some of them.

I concur. While rabid fans do not have much chance to ask stupid questions in Taiwanese cons, few journalists can ask intelligent questions either.

That is awesome! I wonder if ANN will do this at Anime Expo. I really did enjoy the video! Maybe a DVD investment is in order? xP

Sure, I'll add that to the playlist for each video.
I'd also like to make it easier to seek to specific parts of the video, but that requires some bigger investments that are planned for later this year.

Boston was a test run for AX. Not only will we be doing it at AX, but we'll be doing it better.... I hope.

While DVD to order would be possible (we record in high quality (although not HD) and keep the original), I don't think it would be worth it. I really doubt a lot of people would want to permanently collect con-reports.

"All the cons" is way beyond our abilities right now. Maybe in 2008 or 2009 we'll do a lot more cons (all the major and mid-size cons) but right not we're focusing on a limited few.

Bamboo did an excellent job in front of the camera. We're very happy to have her as part of our staff.

Awesome job on the videos. Question, am I the only one that really respects Bandai Visual for basically saying "look, we don't target the casual consumer in Japan and I see no reason we should do so in America". While I understand how the pricing argument can have a major impact on sales figures, I also think it is interesting to take the BV comments especially when rolled together with context from the "Adapting Anime" panel and items people used as reference. (watching the woman whine about Naruto when no one in that panel was even remotely affiliated with Viz or other comments related to titles they had nothing to do with was kind of painful)

Yeah. Welcome to anime conventions. Half the questions could be answered from a few minutes spent on sites like this.

My favorite panel question that happens more often than it should is when someone asks a voice actor if they can draw them something.

Gah, that Adapting Anime panel was just painful to watch. I can't believe how clueless a lot of these fans are.

does anyone know the name of the song at the end of the Anime Boston Highlights video? I know I've heard it before, but I can't recall from where
