Yeah I heard about this from Jeff Benjamin (K-pop Billboard writer) on Twitter. Not surprised, she is a big fan of Japan (alongside Katy Perry, who is a Japanophile too). So this doesn't surprise me.

I don't like Lady Gaga, but I think the dolls are really impressive. But I definitely don't want anything like that in my room.

This is either the world's greatest pop culture mic drop, or hands down the greatest trolling of a nation's pop culture--Gaga's done out-japaned Japan!

The dolls...? Not gonna lie, that's a tad creepy.

I don't really like Lady Gaga, but at least she seems to be having fun, and not just being a 24/7 scumbag, like Justin Bieber.

Before starting the video, I was expecting to hear the opening music "Making of a Cyborg" from Kenji Kawai's Ghost in the Shell soundtrack.

Japan appreciates her because she was one of the more vocal supporters of the 3/11 disaster relief and one of the earliest Western celebrities to go back to Japan during the Fukushima radiation fears. She was once even invited to Japan's New Year's Eve tradition Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Contest) show.

Not surprised regarding Lady Gaga's popularity in Japan. Loads of music artists are popular in Japan. Even Bieber. Of course, Micheal Jackson's popularity in the country was a sight to behold. He also had the distinction of having the best selling foreign album in the country, with over 2.5 million units of Thriller being sold in Japan, his posthumous movie grossed nearly $60 million, with Japan being the vast majority of the overseas gross for the movie, the movie made over $10 million in home video sales in 1 week, ousting Ponyo, the crowds for him were massive, during his performances, he had to be protected due to fangirls, he made highlights in newspapers for weeks, people payed 100s of dollar just to see him for a night, etc.

It's not like the States, where the only non English language music that has a ghost of a chance is Ricky Martin/certain other Spanish songs, due to obvious reasons.
