On another site we were talking about how Bandai might have One Piece so I was thinking could maybe instead of Bandai having the anime they ment a game? On Wikipedia it says the release date for "One Piece:Umlited Adventure" for Wii is in Aug 07. At first I thought someone just put an English date as a joke because most Americans would not understand the whole story since it covers where they are in Japan now and 4kids cancelled the dub, but I translated the information about the story the best i could and it seems like it could work in the US. This translation isn't perfect and I couldn't translate everything since my skills have gotten a little rusty so some lines are not translated at all. Heres the site too http://www.bandaigames.channel.or.jp/list/wii_onepiece/story/index.html

First Paragraph [One Piece: Unlimited Adventure] an original story where Luffy and his buddys go to a cold deserted island where living things bear fruit.

Second Paragraph Luffy's group find an orb. That orb is the ninth day of the week?

Third Paragraph Confection island. See all the livings in a life or death moment. Prepare inside, Luffy

Fourth Paragraph Often you will see many life or death moments when you switch the orb on in your hand and fall into a stare

So it seems like a new kind of game where everyone could posibly understand it. So could Bandai be using this chance to maybe test new voices? We all know Bandai knows not to use the 4kids voices so they will have to get a new cast. If people like these voices then it could give them the green light to start a new dub or another company to start one. The problem is should they include all the characters and elements from the episodes not aired yet because when Dragon Ball Final Bout was brought over here many characters confused people since we were only on the namek saga in the US. It could help though if they included the stuff not showen in english yet because people may like it and want to see it in anime form.

It'd be cool if they could bring the game over, although it would be full of "spoilers" for people who haven't been keeping up with the Japanese versions, since it features two nakama that aren't yet in the American show/manga, and it seems to also include many of the major villains or the series in some form, including ones not in the American release. The plot itself definitely seems to be a unique "sidestory" thing though.

VIZ Media says that Toei still hasn't made any move for the OP license, so it's probable that Bandai/VIZ Media don't have the property. If there will be a new cast, it'll be a Toei-sponsored endeavour.

It'll be quite a show to observe the bleeding Talos of Japan try to cope with its last massive franchise sink faster than the Titanic in trans-Atlantic waters.

It would be great if Luffy's voice sounds extremely similar to Goku's voice instead of having a little kid's voice. Hopefully, One Piece Wii will not be the same as the dubbed version of One Piece 4kids has executed. But I'm okay with the other voices and the rap opening in One Piece's dub.

However, The people who do Dub Piece do an excellent job with Luffy's voice.

I know but that could actually help. By seeing all these new characters and plots it could interest more people into watching the series. With the new voices too people could take it more seriously and maybe Bandai could do a poll asking if people would like to see episodes of the anime with the new voices, characters, and plots. I remember back when we were on the Frieza saga here you could buy action figures of characters like Cell, Buu, Gotenks, Super Saiyan 3 Goku, Trunks, etc so showing these new characters might not be so bad. One Piece is kind of already got a bad rap here and this game is an easy to try and save it. Doing this game first instead of starting the series is a cheaper way of testing new voices (although dubbing a movie could work just as well) so if this game fails here then One Piece will just go down here as some crappy pirate show so we really have nothing to loose at this point.

I always imagined Luffy having a voice similair the kid Goku and Stephanie Nadolny would make a great Luffy. I think it is safe to say though Bandai probably won't use the 4kids actors since they know how people feel about them.

I never had a problem with the voice of Luffy for the 4Kids dub - I thought he fit pretty well, I just had a problem with dialogue and voice direction. Needless to say, though, if a new licensor picks it up, they'll want to distance themselves as far away from that debacle as possible.

Luffy's voice wasn't horrible, certainly not Sanji bad, but it was nowhere near as good as the original, and that Krusty "hehehe heeee!" laugh thing he does all the time in the dub bugs the crap out of me. then fo course we have the massive editing and mistranslations, that stuff just has to stop if they plan to make a sucess of the series.
