I haven't seen the anime, but I enjoyed the manga.

Wow, this must be one of the worst reviews ANN ever gave(LMAO). I can't believe that I know a person who likes this piece of crap.

Beet the Vandel Buster is like Dragon Quest played by the shonen manga handbook...

I read about six or seven volumes of the manga before I decided I had more interesting things to spend my money on. It's not terrible, but it's nothing earth-shattering.

Anyway...they changed the damn soundtrack? Now this is one DVD I know I'm not picking up. Anime hyper#

A couple of other things about the DVD that bothered me but didn't make it into the review because I deemed the dub and subtitle problems to be more important: The menus (especially the language menus) took forever to register changes (not simple pauses but actual count-to-five delays), and the previews looked like someone hit them with a pixellating nuclear weapon. This really is the worst DVD release I've seen since I picked up Air Master.

F+! That's awesome, LOL! I didn't even know that existed! Seriously though, is this actually the first F this site has given out? I'm all for review sites that try to be fair to everything it reviews, but every once in a while, you gotta lay out the line on what must be avoided (and it definitely sounds like it); rather than wasting $20 on this, I'll just use this review as a "reference book."

Damn F+.
The dub has some real heavy hitters too. Was it just a bad show or did they mess up it? I'm going to guess it was just a boring show they messed up.

I can't believe I managed to make it through this entire series Anime hyper

There were TWO episodes that weren't painful to watch, and while I'm sure no one cares if they're spoiled about this show, I'll just play it safe anyway: spoiler[The episode where Beet fights Flowsky (or however you spell it). Amazing animation, plus a freakin' gunfight! Also the first episode of Beet Warriors vs Grunide; that had awesome animation as well. Everything else, though...]

I swear the majority of this show is filler.

So much of my life that I'll never get back...

Unintentionally hilarious English opening song.

The Japanese opening was pretty bad, it was full of generic scenes of dying monsters and "pretty" looking people killing the monsters with their uber weapons. Don't even make me bring up the awful Engrish that popped up every 5 seconds.

Carl Kimlinger, you are now suspect.

I watched it and think it was a good first effort by a new company. Could it have been better? Sure. I am totally with you on the subtitles. But an F. I have seen you give a B to bigger pieces of crap. Your review makes me wonder who you really work for.

Today is a sad day for this site.

Yes truly today is a sad day, some anonymous internet complainer disagrees with one of our reviews.

News Flash: that happens every day, it's a result of people disagreeing on completely subjective things.

I don't know why or how someone could give it an F+ though. I totally disagree!!!! Evil or Very Mad It's a great show!!!!! We're staying tuned! Smile

Except...wasn't Illumitoon founded by former executives from Funimation? It's not like they'd never seen anime before and were throwing out something completely random to the wolves. Surely they should've known that the subtitles intended for the Japanese audio track should at least bear some resemblance to what the characters actually say in Japanese. Did someone at the company actually watch the finished product before release and think, "Wow, this is definitely on par with our competitors' products"? Good thing I was never interested in Beet in the first place.

Hmm, from what I take from this review, Beet the Vandal Buster rivals Flame of Recca on the cliched shounen shit-o-meter... I don't know. It's kinda' hard to believe. So hard to believe that I gotta' check it out and see for myself. Laughing
