Ah, Square Enix always giving people what they don't want, and not giving them what they do.
Hey we want a remake of 7. No we will give you a really bad trilogy, and a bunch of phone ports. |

Yep heard about this from other video game sites. Question is will FF7 get a smartphone port, if it does it'll be the first FF7 will appear on another console other then Playstation.

How 'bout an ending which actually lets you know what happens to the characters after they escape the last dungeon? |

I want a FF6 port, don't know about you people. Pretty good news to me.
Besides, I don't want a FF7 port. That game is ugly. Actually remake it or just leave it alone. |

The blocky pop-eye people with their eyes basically glued on to them. Hell the game can't even stay consistent with it's models. Yeah putting those pop eye people in the cg cutscenes such as the one were Tifa is pushing cloud in the wheelchair just look hilarious. Never mind that you have those blocks acting like sprites in the 2d games. Not just the graphics, but the music is rendered terribly in the PS1 version. HONK HONK HONK, thats what that main theme looks like. It's not a good looking game anymore and thats fine. Thats why people want an actual remake. Not an uprez or some hd thing, thats not a remake. FF6 on the other hand? No, that game looks great and playing it on my phone sounds pretty good to me.

Speak for yourself, I'd much rather have FF6 than 7. It's the best game in the entire series. Not that I'm really opposed to 7, just that it's way overhyped despite falling apart in the last disc. But I guess the "first" always holds a special place for people, since it was the first FF game most people overseas were familiar with. ... Just please nobody ask for 8 to be redone *shudder* |

I Just wish I could play this on my PS Vita . The PS1 versions of VI and V are terrebly slow with translation errors. The GBA version answered that but the graphics were butchred along with the music which is a sin in my book since I tried VI thinking it would suck. BOY WAS I WRONG!
And this is coming from a guy who played and beat VII and IX. At least this a step close towards that direction. |

More than just half an hour of the ship flying and them escaping, for one. |

I feel like you missed the point. Everything you need to know about FFVI's character's is tied up in that ending. There's nothing more that needs to be told. It's a perfect ending.

Rahxephon: No, the perfect ending would be what happens to them later, like with FF IV.

Final Fantasy VI was way overdue for a proper re-release. I am finally glad that it is being looked into. I too, think it is the best FF game in the series which got terribly sidelined due to FF7's mainstream appeal.
Really? I felt there were some loose ends in that story that never got tied up. spoiler[Shadow's story: Aside from some dream sequences that cover bits and pieces of his past, we still don't know to this day who Shadow really is. People have long speculated that he is Relm's long lost father. But nothing came out of it. Locke and Celes: Just good friends? Or did they actually become lovers? The Returners: Banon and his fellow Returners were never heard from after the world's destruction and nothing was touched upon whether or not they survived. They were an important part of the storyline during the events in the World of Balance. I don't understand why they were written out. ] |

Phone ports might be fun. Especially how big phones are getting. The Luminous engine is out and all we want is nostalgia?
FF 6's ending was an hour long Gatsu, and the game was the grand finale. A remake of FF 7 is impossible. There are too many collaborators to pay and hoops to go through. We ask for Secret of Mana 2 and get Secret of Evermore instead. They've messed with their fans since we were kids. You'll be lucky to see Final Fantasy Versus13/FFXV in the next few years. That's one whole other fandom that waits and waits and talks nothing but greatness from a game that was idealized in 2006 that still doesn't exist. 13's universe and The L'cie are garbage and not worth the wait. Sakaguchi is to Final Fantasy as Miyazaki is to Ghibli. We want what was great to continue but all we get is Nomura/Goro bringing releasing soulless spinoffs. |
