FINALLY! Hot damn! Now I don't have to drag myself to both just because some parts of the industry don't get along. This is amazing news.

Anime is too small to support schisms, even in Japan.
It's good to see the industry back together, now maybe we can get everyone to agree with the Sultan of Agrabah : "It's that LAW that's the problem!"

All the groups I cared about jumped ship to go to ACE, so I never much cared about the split and even praised them for taking a stand against the law but...the law remains, so...why are we getting married again when the ex is still an asshole??

What was even the point then, if they were just going to merge back after only holding the ACE event for one year?
I assume this new merger will be under "one roof" per se, but still feature a lot of the fan-friendly events ACE was formed for?

FYI, ACE was held in both 2012 & 2013.
The whole issue was not so much about money but politics. The whole point of hosting ACE at Makuhari was because it's located just outside of the Tokyo metro limit which the amendment does not affect (basically a big fudge YOU message to Ishihara, then mayor of Tokyo)). With the loss of the major publishers to ACE, TAF lost almost all of its AAA announcements (since 80% of the titles are based on a published manga) and have been bleeding both attendees and press the last two years. Eventually TAF would've been the one to die in the end.
