And even that is hit or miss, seeing as how most older fans don't really like the look of the new radical turtles. But I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens when it's released, I know I wouldn't invest in 4kids seeing as how they don't have any properties that are that hot.....now 3-4 years ago that would of been a good buy.

I must be in the wrong circles because I've only heard good things from adult Ninja Turtle fans about both the 4Kids cartoon (with the exception of FastForward, haven't heard anything good about that) and the movie. The only complaints I've really heard about Ninja Turtles is that the figures are out of scale and don't have enough articulation.
I'm glad Motley Fool re-evaluated 4Kids' stock. A few years ago they had a very different outlook for 4Kids that might still be seen as accurate when researched.

As an older fan myself, statements like that seem weird to me. What I've seen of this movie so far looks like the best depiction of the turtles since Eastman and Laird stopped publishing it in black and white and sold it to Archie Comics back in the 80s (after which it wasn't worth reading to most of its college age audience).
On the other hand, my girlfriend (who is ridiculously younger than me), shares your opinion. But she's only seen the hideous cartoons and movies and has no idea what the turtles should actually look like.

You know, this is a real good opportunity for someone (or a group of people *hint hint*)to start Takeover preceedings against 4Kids and turn the ship around. I'm willign to bet Kahn is slowly reeling in the past "failures" of 4Kids.
4Kids TV isn't doing so well, they lost/abandoned the OP license, several properties are on hiatus, a few bad marketing mistakes......

I'm sure that "children don't read" comment did wonders for him.

Well, seeing that 4Kids didn't have any literary interests (something that Viz Media does have, which their rep managed to capitalize on due to Kahns f***-up), Kahn had no valid reason not to say it.

Who the hell still buys Cabbage Patch Kids?!

Yeah, do business with a company which is third in the video game market, and which couldn't even get the Halo movie off the ground. That'll help.

Yeah, but it loses its grittiness by making them in cg.

As someone who grew up watching the old turtles cartoons, I gotta say, the new series was extremely well done. Real plots, smarter dialogue, smoother animation. However, what I didn't like about the new series was the fact it wasnt the old series. I'm wary of the movie. But I'll probably watch it anyway. It will never touch the first movie.

One would have a better chance of devouring the Navarre Corporation; 4Kids stock is still on the "medium-high" side of average stock prices.

I think the combination of lacking a game-themed cash-cow and the Saturday Morning Bloc attendance decline really hurt them badly, but Kahn isn't acting in the direct interest of profits; he's aiming specifically for young boys, even though he could have made 4KidsTV a hit by overloading it with girl properties.

Given that he's a television entertainer and his whole career revolves around people watching his programs, I'd say diverting attention away from books is pretty rational on his part, given his worst critics would be petulant librarians and an incompetent, overweight manga pac-man.
It's not like manga is really all that "profound" as far as literature goes, anyway; the manga-ka write at a sub-Elementary level, where even Scholastic Press' trash child pulp novels (say, Animorphs, which I was quite fond of in bygone years) are of a superior calibur. Unless we're talking about Death Note, reading manga takes about as much literary strength as reading bill-boards or street-signs.

4kids have made bad decisions with its prospects and I've never been fond of them and how they treat said properties.
It's like they don't really LEARN the lessons of why something isn't working out... They treat children like they are complete morons; I'd be insulted.
Besides, I'll forever hold a grudge against them for what they did to Tokyo Mew Mew. They didn't have to butcher it to death. I've shown an 8 year old regular anime and she loved it and when I explained the concept of Tokyo Mew Mew to her she sounded SO interested but then I told her that 4kids had changed it and cut out half the sugary goodness. And most of all, she loved the name "Ichigo" when I expalined that the name meant "Strawberry" and sounded angry when I said they changed it to "Zoey". Why not, you know, TEACH a kid something instead of treating them like an idiot?
And aren't they going to stop with One Piece?
Not only that, but 4kids biggest plus (Pokemon) isn't really all theirs anymore.
I don't care about the American properites at all. TMNT has passed its time. Been there...done that...and all that rot. I still have an unoppened TMNT nintendo game in my closet~ haha.
I'll just say this: 4kids won't survive the way they are going no matter how well the new TMNT movie goes. After all, I'm not sure about eveyone else, but I'm not going to watch another anime or animation as brain-numbing as 4kids makes it...and I don't know many kids who will either. Why would they? When they can watch something that makes SENSE because it isn't copped up.
Ah well...I'll shut up.

The 4Kids version of TMNT was actually pretty good. But other than that, 4Kids really doesn't know how to market. Their stock plummeted because they just keep doing the same thing over and over again. License/produce a series, edit anything "neccessary", bring out the toys. Rinse and repeat, put everything unsuccessful on hiatus. And their 4Sight branch never got off the ground. Add Kahn's infamous insult to American children and you have a bankrupcy waiting to happen. The TMNT movie was just an attempt to draw more attention toward their most successful property. Unless 4Kids changes their way of doing things, their stock will go down even lower by the end of next year.

That brought a smile to my lips and a tear of irony to my eyes, as the original definition of "moron" was synonymous with a child of roughly eight to twelve years of age.

Actually, 4Kids isn't involved in the movie, anything they get out of it will be completely by association. Anything Ninja Turtles, from bed sheets to toothbrushes, stand to benefit from the movie. Another thing, Playmates got the toy licenses from Mirage and has had it since around 1987, long before 4Kids came into the picture. I'm not so sure 4Kids actually sees any money from those sales or any other merchandise sales for that matter. Truth is the only reason the Ninja Turtles cartoon has turned out so well is because there are higher powers than Al Kahn involved. Mirage seems to be pretty protective of their bread winner.

Only with OP, it took them a good couple years to even show a Toy prototype after they began to air. It's as if they expected Viz Media to support them via the manga and SJ.

That comment from always floored me. Obviously he's been living in a cave for the last 10 or so years, and hasn't heard of Harry Potter or Liminy Snicket. (Which I'm probably spelling wrong, never read Snicket myself. )
Though it makes me really sad that 4Kids now has their hands into TMNT, which was a childhood favorite of mine. Since I'm boycotting any property 4Kids touches, I guess I need to scratch that movie off my viewing list.
