Too bad they aren't putting out Blurays for Vividred as the imports look great in 1080p. And just 5 postcards? The imports came with over 30 postcards so I hope they choose their 5 well!

I was convinced Vividred Operation was going to be a BD release. I am starting to wonder if Aniplex USA is going to keep releasing most of their non-dubbed sets only in DVD format.
I hope this apparent trend does not include the Monogatari franchise. I want to keep buying my Monogatari on BD.

I'm guessing there is no BD release because the Japan company didn't agree to it. Surprising, since it's Aniplex, there prices are going to be insane anyway. But it still might be cheaper than in Japan, so, yet again, reverse importation is freaking out companies. I'm just waiting for the day when there are no more BD releases in the US.

So...
Considering I don't care about BluRay, an entire set of Oreshura and a little extra for around 60 Dollars is reasonable. I may have to eat my Aniplex hatred and get this...
Surprising.

Yeah, I think I'll pick up the Oreshura set.
No doubt that they'll probably release the BDs in a few years when the BD-Box drops in Japan. But glad that I can get Oreshura for a reasonable price

Just finished watching OreShura and it was enjoyable enough that I'll pick it up... when it comes out on bluray. I'm guessing this is too close to the release date in Japan to put out the blurays here, so hopefully they'll release them later on.
Nice to see reasonable pricing on an Aniplex release though. Hopefully if a bluray release happens it will follow suit.

Prices don't seem too insane to me, especially given that it's such a short time-frame from airing in Japan to disc in hand.

No no no nope... I'm temped to buy it but I kinda wanted blu-ray sets for both, especially Vividred Operation... If VividOp gets the same treatment as Blue Exorcist... I would wait for the expensive blu-ray as it would get a fancy box set (and a dub but I don't really care about it...) so all in all I was dreaming of a box set for the show or limited edition (like oreimo especially for Oreshura...)

Vividred Operation will probably end up like Fate/zero and Blue Exorcist: Subs now, dubs later. For the moment, pass.
Then again, was Vividred Operation ever that popular to begin with? Would it be worth dubbing eventually?

My guess is they are putting out DVD only releases initially because they are worried about reverse importation of Blu-ray sets.
My hope for Aniplex releases like this is that they will wait until enough time has passed and they think the risk is down and then they'll give us the Blu-ray sets. Whether they are dubbed or not will probably depend on how much they think a dub will sell or how likely it might be televised, which let's be honest to get that in the US must be dubbed for any major network.
