I didn't ever care for the Street Fighter Alpha series, but I have been a fan of the original street fighters, so I might check that out when it comes out. Although it's going take a little bit since it's not suppose to be out until June....but hey I can wait, I already have enough stuff I am trying to watch/read.

The Masaomi Kanzaki one was partially released in the US back in the early-to-mid 90s by a company called Tokuma Comics that, as far as I know, never released anything else. Their release was pretty horrible in that it was...
A. Colorized, and B. Added poorly researched character bios to the bottom of every page because the page proportions weren't the same as a standard comics page. You can see the results, including covers and a few interior pages from 6 of the 8 issues that Tokuma published, here. The series was decent as far as video game adaptations go....certainly better than the Darkstalkers manga that Viz put out a few years later. |

I love the old Street Fighter mangas, they're the first mangas I've ever collected. I imported a few series back in the day including Ryu Final (SF3), Street Fighter Zero and Sakura Ganbaru! they all came out around '94-97 so it's a trip to me seeing all these old Street Fighter mangas and anime being re-released all of a sudden I'm like, what took them so damn long! If it was 10 years ago I would of been thrilled!
Anyways, ya'll know Karin from Street Fighter Alpha 3, she originally made her first appearance from the Sakura Ganbaru manga, she was so popular that Capcom put her in the game. |
