Not sure what the trick is but i voted for INTERSTELLA 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem well because it's the only one I've seen all of I feel a little guilty see as that movie is one of his most recent works you know besides the new Galaxy Railway.
I'm also a little pissed that so many have voted I'm not much of a fan of Matsumoto and/or I'm not familiar with his works anime fans now a days have no comprehension/respect for old school anime most of them are stuck in this post 2000-2004 lock up Anyhow sorry for that little rant i just joined but i have been reading the forum for a while just had to say that i guess. If it's what I'm thinking, I thought it was a mistake and went and voted anyway. And yes, it's a little sad that so many people would be unfamiliar with one of the most prolific creators in the business. edit:Oh, yeah - I voted for the Galaxy Express TV. Beautiful stuff. I voted "Interstella 555", since it was one of my first anime. I still own Daft Punk's "Discovery" album that it was based off of and listen to it on a regular basis. I've been wanting to see "Galaxy Express 999" for awhile though, but I've been having trouble finding it.

I've always been inexplicably atracted to anime that is older than me. Matsumoto's early works (as well as Macross) are my favorites from said age. This is especially true because I grew up with Albator (Ah, Radio-Canada). Ironically enough though, I voted for one of his recent titles. Why? Because it grabbed me more than most of his titles. As someone who enjoys shorter titles, as well as the style used therein, Space Pirate Captain Herlock The Endless Odyssey took the prize for me.

As far as the throngs of peope voting
I'm not much of a fan of Matsumoto and/or I'm not familiar with his works Don't assume people voting that way are unfamiliar with his work. I am quite familiar with almost all those series. I just don't like most of them. And some of them I actively dislike and despise. I considered voting for Star Blazers as thats my favorite of the bunch (which isn't saying much) but in the end I just went with I am not a fan. I have always felt Matsumoto was a love him or hate him director and the voting seems to bear this out. |

I voted for the GE999 movie, but I hesited with the Princess Mllenium movie and the Waga seishun no Arcadia movie.
I saw the trick too and I didn't care as long as I can vote for one of those great movies (and I thought it was an error anyway), but WHY this trick ? |

actually, I voted "I'm not much of a fan of Matsumoto and/or I'm not familiar with his works ", because...I'm really not familiar with his works. One of my shortcomings as an anime fan is that I'm really unfamiliar with anime made before 2000. ^^;;

I also don't know about the trick, but I voted for Harlock Saga, It's one of my first of Matsumoto's so I decided to go with that since I love Harlock. Although I was tempted to put Interstella 5555.

I don't see the trick at all. x.x Anyway, I voted Interstella 5555, since it's the only one of his works I've really watched. I love his art and think it's amazing, but it's hard to get a hold of. D:
