Wow. Has anybody heard of or seen this yet? Using AltaVista's BabelFish translation service-thingy, I translated the TV Tokyo website in search of info for F-Zero Falcon Legend (The trailer looked pretty cool), but I found Gungrave instead. It looks so awesome, kinda reminescent of Hellsing and Trigun.

I hope it doesn't suck like the game did. It does look like it would be interesting though.

I've heard some really bad things about the game from one of my friends who lives and breathes video games. When I told him about the anime, he argued with me for about 2 minutes that there already was an anime on the game.
Apparently cut-scenes count as OVAs now.

Wow...he's a moron. Just because video game cutscenes are done in the style of anime does not make them an anime in and of themselves. They're still just cutscenes with anime-style characters.

Gungrave, as I understand it, is a full-fledged anime born of Yasuhiro Nightow's enthusiasm for the characters and story he created for the game.
Incidentally, Lupin, Nightow IS the creator of Trigun.
Also, in what way did ZOE's deal "go flat"? The anime was made, and turned out about as well as could be expected. It was a sidestory to the game, as the game was the story-telling method Hideo Kojima wanted to use.

I didn't mean that ZOE went flat I meant that the Gungrave could have had a deal like that but it just didn't work out and there restarting it now.

The game was great, the problem was that it was short and didn't have much replay value. The graphics and game play were great, but the ending levels were somewhat overly complicated. I deffinatly welcome the anime and the new game (Gungrave O.D.).

Yep, it was released over hear, basicly riding on the popularity of Trigun. It didn't sell very well, but it was a deffinate sleeper hit. I was lucky enough to get it for $10 at Target on clearence.
The sequal, O.D. (Overdose) is suposed to play simmilar but fix all of the problems from the first game, including the length.

I'm about to put up a new Fall preview guide, and it's my contention that Gungrave is really terrible. Seems like a total misfire to me. Watch Peacemaker Kurogane instead. It has action and cool characters minus the stupid storyline and villains, and it also has beautiful animation (as opposed to the virtual slideshow Gungrave is).
