So what's your favorite Jpop music video?

I've seen about 50 Jpop/Kpop music video and M-Flo's Miss You video keeps repeating in my head. the hook is infectious. Jonny Astro of M-Flo got some funny ass rhymes. The cold crush lover is here.

Showed it to my girl and she really like it too (Ryohei is her favorite Rolling Eyes ).

You can check out the video clip here

And by popular demand, the Pokemon theme song. The part where the guy does the slanted eyes to represent Ash while the other guy give the peace sign is hilarious.

I totally agree about Jonny Astro. When I first heard him, I couldn't believe he was Japanese!

I like that song w/BoA - the Love Bug. It's catchy as all heck, and the video has a cool animated room thing, and and a Tron-esque motorcycle sequence.

Although it's sort of crazy, I really dig the Hikaru Utada video for FINAL DISTANCE. I especially like the part in the middle where she longs for Utada on Utada action - I wish they'd get together there Crying or Very sad

Does Cibo Matto count? Wink I'm not much of a Jpop fan, I'm afraid, so this is about the closest I get (outside of Yoko Kanno or Akino Arai). This is one of my all time favorite songs and music videos, directed by the illustrious Michel Gondry: Sugar Water.

I don't have an extensive collection of Japanese PVs...and I've managed to sock away one of my personal favourites on a CD-ROM that I lost track of (the music video in question was a Hitomi Yaida piece). That leaves my current personal fave being another Yaiko PV, the one for "Ring My Bell". There isn't a heck of a lot of action in the video but what you do get to see works well at emphasizing the soaring melody and vocals.

That's because Verbal studied in America, so he's perfectly bilingual. And I totally agree about the "Miss You" and "Love Bug" videos are a lot of fun. I also highly recommend M-Flo's video for "Prism". It's really cute.

I'd have to also say I love Gackt's "Vanilla" video. I mean come on, Gackt looking like a SSJ? How can you not love it? Very Happy

Sugizo's "SuperLove" as well as being a great song, has a really fun and happy video too, plus he's just so funny the way acts in it. It makes me chuckle every time. Laughing

and its apparent sequel, "Tripod Baby," where m-flo teams up with Lisa once again for one last swing through space.

Lately I'd have to recommend Ken Hirai's "Pop Star" for it sheer campy crackiness. The afro is just ... well, there are no words.

That's one of my favorites as well! The whole CD is amazing. I love how the video's all backwards and whatnot.

One of my favorite Jpop videos would be "Keep Trying" by Utada Hikaru. It's crazy and fun, and the songs amazing. I love all the little references to her old videos as well. It was fun to try to spot them all!

The video for Puffy AmiYumi's new single "Hataraku Otoko," is totally insane! I love their big heads (It's an anime theme song, so they're supposed to look anime-ish). Doesn't hurt that the song rocks.

Utada Hikaru's "You Make Want To Be A Man," video is crazy, but I'm not sure if it counts, since it's a UK single. It's very futuristic, and invloves a Hikki robot being built. Razz

And W's "Miss Love Tantei" video is so cute! Too bad Aibon (who's in my avatar) is suspended Sad It's an awesome song as well. I love how they're detectives-what a cute idea for a video, and it fits the song perfectly, since tantei means detective.

I'm in love with the PV for Joujoushi by L'arc~en~ciel... Not a huge fan of the song (although I guess I've grown to like it from watching this so much Laughing) but the clip is the most beautiful video clip I've ever seen. Can see it here but the quality doesn't do it justice, it's the only PV I have in stupidly high quality on my computer Very Happy Oh, word of warning it's got naked people in it, because it's all based around famous paintings from centuries ago Wink

At the moment I also really love the PV for Miyavi's song Selfish Love because it's simple and awesome and shows just what he can do by himself. The video is out of sync though for me at least Sad

I love the PV for Janne Da Arc's FREEDOM. They make fun of VK bands. And for some reason yasu ends up in a barrel full of green tennis balls or something. Their PV for Kasumi Yuku Sora Se ni Shite is also really funny.

In terms of cool factor I realy like the video for the Beat Crusader's version of 99 Luftbalons.

I love any Onmyoza PV cause I could stare at Kuroneko for hours. (And I'm a girl. Anime hyper)

Hmm, not exactly my favorite music video, but my friends say that this video by UNDER17 scares them... Personally, I still love it, and they're still my favorite band... But their image does scare a lot of people away from them (mainly Americans).

Ryoko Shintani's CANDY☆POP☆SWEET☆HEART would probably be one of my favorites. I attended a special event in Japan the day the single was released and met her when she handed me the CD, so the song holds a special meaning to me and reminds me of the occasion...
