I was just wondering if anyone knows wherther or not ADV still holds the rights to Martian Successor Nadesico as I've had to go through great lengths to finally track down the series. No store seemed to have all the volumes and I finally just had to buy a used (seemingly not bootleged as it's 6 discs like the ADV release and the seller has a very good rating) copy of the brick set from a third party seller on Amazon. Even ADV's website no longer lists the series in the DVD section.

Anyhow I was just curious after spending most of the night looking. I've been replacing the 5 bootleged sets I have with the legal legit versions lately and this was the second to last one, I'm really hoping it's legit.

EDIT: This is the comment section from it:
Quote:
MINT LIKE NEW ADV films R1 from a 100% trusted seller! 6 discs in sturdy case w/insert! Collectors, snatch it up before it's gone! Free Delivery Confirmation.

...and yes his rating was actually 100%.

If you examine that link you'll see that Amazon doesn't actually sell the complete chronicles or have any in stock instead of buying it from them they point you to AmazonMarketplace for "Buying Options", 9/10 of which are bootlegs.

It's puzzled me why Nadesico is so rediculously OOP these days--it seems like a fairly high-profile series, and maybe they're planning a thinpack sometime in the future. Sure, it came out in 2000-2001 originally, but the Essential Anime re-releases are less than two years old. That 6-disc collection seems legit--a friend of mine has it, and no self-respecting bootlegger would put a 26-episode series on more than 3 discs Laughing I know it's too late now, but I'd recommend the Essential Anime versions--they have separate soft subtitles for all the onscreen text (and there is a lot) instead of the ugly VHS-era digital overlays that were all over the initial-release discs, which are what the Complete Chronicles contains.

It's just to help you confirm you got a legit release.

Well, this is kind of my Christmas present to myself, since that's probabally how long it'll take to get here. I love this series and am looking forward to watching it again. Razz
