"... the full version of episode 25 will be on the eventual Blu-ray Disc and DVD release."

Oh, that's okay then. Smile

Well, I can't be the only person that has seen a decrease in the quality of the animation since the series started. That was part of what I feared about this project from the start. The last volume had parts in it that just looked awful.

I was wondering why they delayed the last volume's release even though the final "movie" was still slated to premiere this month, and now I guess we know the answer.

I figured the TV broadcast would force the staff to speed up the production schedule, but I didn't expect them to run so behind their deadlines. Now I'm curious to see if the completed version of episode 25 will air on Japanese television next month.

I was hoping the TV would get delayed as well, I'd rather not see the lower quality TVraws posted before the BDs even come out.

...or you could just, y'know, not pirate the show right away.

Ridiculous, I gotta see the show while the discussion is hot.

I'm actually a huge fan of the original Space Battleship Yamato series, and I've been streaming Star Blazers periodically on Hulu. There are a number of animation faults in that show, but I'm completely ready to ignore them because of the age. These days I'm actually surprised to see them, though such a thing would never offend me or cheapen a series outright to any degree. Animation is, after all, a very tough business.

Then import the Blu-Rays. They have English subtitles.

Still eclipses most made-for-TV anime.

I guess I really haven't seen the reduction in quality so much as some of the others around here have, but that might be since I was such a fan of the original series as I had remarked before. Like you said, it still beats most shows made directly for television anyway.
