Great review, as usual. Due to certain things said in your analysis here, as well as a mentioned familiarity with other mystery works, I'd say you very much seem to be in Umineko's target audience. I greatly look forward to future reviews of the series. But, since this is an Umineko review, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone starts complaining about how you're reviewing it wrong.
And, this review reminded me: I'm stateside for the moment. I should pick up these localizations while I'm here!

But then again, perhaps that's what he wanted to do. |
As someone who knows the end result of this series, I'd say he knows what he's doing. And I, personally, agree with his methods.

Ki Hi Hi HI someone fell head first into some traps, It's to bad you were doing so well, and still are for the most part, but Ki Hi HI Ki Hi HI did you fall for those ones hook line and sinker. Don't feel to bad though the first time people read it almost everyone falls into those traps UUU.
I don't care for a lot of the art in this volume though it is far to shojo y
though there are some very nice pieces in there every now and again.
Episode 2 is my least favorite because of battler mainly. though most of that will be the second half of episode 2.

Does this volume end before or after the Red Truth is introduced?

Right before it. The first twilight was just revealed and the second twilight is about to happen. I wonder how they are going to handle it though? Everything I say in bold in true?
